Great company!! (Was: Failed after 2 months)
UPDATE: My original review is below. If you read it, you can probably tell I was done with this product. But the manufacturer reached out to me to make this right. They never asked me to change my review, but based on their actions, I feel I owe it to other customers to update this...as well as to Leven. They voluntarily replaced the drive with a new one!The new drive is working 100% perfect after some stress testing. So my original impression was related to the unit I received...not a general assessment of their product line.Working with Leven to return the faulty drive and coordinate the new unit was super easy. This is a good company standing behind their product!-------------- Original review ----------------------I purchased the 4TB version to use in a Proxmox virtualization server. Upon initial setup, it worked great. But after ~2 months of use (and after the return window closed), the drive began having issues. It heated up so it began to stop responding to the controller and I encountered many many errors & timeouts.I finally replaced the drive with a Samsung 2TB ... smaller, but I couldn't afford the larger 4TB.So now I have a useless $300USD flaky drive. So frustrating...

Do NOT use as RAID - or at all
These drives have been nothing but a complete nightmare on my RAID 5 setup, and Intel Rapid Storage. I would configure the RAID. It would take days to build the 18 GB drive. Soon after it would be done building, one of the disk would disconnect and the RAID would go into fail mode. I'd reboot the computer (Windows Server 2019), and the Rebuild process would start. Would spend more days waiting for it to finish, then it would fail again within an hour or so.That's when I realized that there was a Power Saving Mode in the Intel RST Settings. This made sense. The disks would be fine during the Build/Rebuild process... (intensively being used), and would immediately fail when they were done building (Power Saving Mode). So I disabled that setting and the RAID worked fine for like 4 months, without a single issue since. However, out of nowhere, they have started doing the exact same thing again, even though the Power Saving Mode is still disabled.Extremely frustrating. They might be fine as individual drives, or with a different RAID controller. But I wouldn't risk it. Never had any issues with my previous disks (different brand - changed to upgrade size).---------------------------Update 06/13/2023After buying different drives to rebuild my RAID, I tried using these LEVEN drives as standalone. Three of the 7 total disks I had, failed to format. I contacted LEVEN and got nothing but BS excuses to avoid honoring their warranty, claiming that using the disks as RAID was "improper use and cause artificial damage". I have never heard of disks being damaged simply by being formatted as RAID. I demanded that they provide a reputable online article supporting their claim. Of course, they did not.So right now, I spent $1,511.93 on their disks (6 for RAID, and a spare). Can't get a refund on those. They won't replace the 3 failed disk on claims that they were "artificially damaged" (more like artificial claims), and I had to spend another $1,432.08 to rebuild my RAID with a different, reputable brand. There were all sorts of red flags from the beginning. Most reputable disk manufacturers will have software for their SSD drives. When I went on their website initially, to look for theirs, I was redirected to some weird 3rd party software. Didn't trust it.I should have returned them all at the time. Save yourself the trouble, instead of a few bucks. This was a huge mistake I'll never repeat again.

Crap
I purchased a 4TB Leven SSD on 28 Feb 2024. My PC is running Ubuntu 22.04. Initially the SSD installed and ran just fine with no issues. However, in mid-April 2024 I began to notice that the SSD becomes unusable by the system. At first I will get access and/or read write errors. If I unmount and try to remount any partition on the SSD I get errors and will not allow me to mount it. When I attempt to run fsck on the partition I get an error for unable to read or bad superblock. My only option at this point is to power off and on the computer. Note that a reboot without powering off results in ata2: com reset failed for the device. Power off and back on will restore the system, but after some time (usually hours) the process will repeat. I have another SSD in the PC and do not experience any sort of issues running with it. I have also swapped SATA slots to confirm it wasn't my motherboard or SATA controller or cables. The other SSD runs fine when configured either way. I attached the SSD to my computer as an external USB drive. I observed during heavy usage (i.e. transferring large file content such as backups) that the hard drive would fail and the file transfer would hang. I then swapped it out for a different hard drive and the same file transfers succeeded without failure. This further enforces my theory that there is something wrong with this SSD.Of course, these folks are out of Taiwan and the 30 day return period has closed. I have send three emails to j-a.com.tw and have received no response. I'm afraid I just threw away $189.99.

Drive Failure and No Response for Warranty Support from Leven
The drive failed a few months after I purchased it. I have made a half dozen attempts to contact the company to have the drive replaced, but I have not received a response. A warranty is worthless unless it is honored. Beware.
