Fantastic game
I'm not going to go in depth here, but I have played a lot of Souls and Soulslikes. I just beat Lies of P the week before I started this game. This is one of the most accessible Soulslikes that I have ever played. If you've been looking to get into Souls and Soulslikes, I would definitely suggest giving this a try. The level design is amazing. There are a huge variety of weapons. There is always something to do. I had a hard time stopping my play sessions and when I wasn't playing this game, I was thinking about it. Few games get into my head like that. Lies of P didn't even worm its way in like this game did. The game isn't easy per say, but it is very accessible. I don't want that to sound like a negative though. If you have ever wanted to try these games, get this game first. It's cheap enough too. $20 for this masterpiece is a steal.

Game is amazing
This is one of the most fun souls-like games. Its not as long (it is about 15 hours without backtracking/ side missions) as fromsofts catalog of straight 5 star gems, but if you like the genre, this is not one to pass up! It feels nice to play as aegis taking down a nice assortment of killer automatons. The graphics are a bit blurry, but i personally really liked the aesthetic enough that the bluriness at times was minor.Sound has some issues as it tends to cut out at times, but the effects when moving and slashing feel on point. The world is not interconnected. The level design is at most times quite clever and often looping back on itself. Also, there is metroidvania like opportunity to go back to areas that you have already cleared and open new paths with skills you pick up along the way.So, again, if you like the genre, you could easily find this to be worth your time and money. Just dont order or preorder from amazon as they do not fulfill their pre order obligations as advertised.

As Close to PS5 Bloodborne as You’ll Get
This game was a real hidden gem.I bought it on sale to scratch my Soulsborne itch without knowing really anything about it.The graphics are beautiful, the atmosphere of the world they’ve built in this game is stunning, and the controls are slick and responsive.Combat takes a bit of getting used to with how enemies respond to damage, but once you get a feel for it and build your confidence, you will start to feel that rush that get you get from other games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne and Elden Ring when you beat a particularly tough enemy. The story was unique, and all the voice acting was very good. There were definitely some audio bugs where voice acting would cut out, but that was really the only issue I ever experienced while playing the game or viewing the cutscenes. If you keep subtitles on you won’t miss any important bits.Considering this is not a triple A game, the few bugs I ran into were definitely within the realm of acceptability, especially when taking into account how well-crafted the entire experience was.If I ever lost this game, I would replace it immediately. A must-have for your PS5 collection if you’re looking for an exciting and decently challenging experience.

Soulsborne Lite? Steelrising's Accessible Elegance
Steelrising might share DNA with the Soulsborne series, but it offers a more forgiving experience. Checkpoints are generous, enemy variety is well-balanced, and the controls feel responsive. It's still challenging, demanding skillful combat and strategic thinking, but it's more welcoming to newcomers who want to dip their toes into the genre's thrilling waters.

A great Bloodborne-like from Spiders
I don't have a lot to say about Steelrising, except that I really enjoyed it. It's a departure from Spiders' last few games (Mars: War Logs, The Technomancer, Bound by Flame, and GreedFall, which followed open-world patterns set by Bioware with Dragon Age and Mass Effect, and CDPR with The Witcher 2 and 3). This takes heavy inspiration from Bloodborne. It's a by-the-book Souls-like, although I found it quite a bit easier than most other Souls-likes (especially the brand-name FromSoft ones). You can go for a few different weapon types and builds. I recommend going for an agile/fast weapon like the claws and putting most of your points into beefing up dexterity (whatever it's called - it's what the claws scale up to) and defense (you basically become a fast-moving tank). I put almost no points into health and only a few into whatever the stamina stat is called. But what makes it easier is that it's pretty easy to stockpile consumable healing items. It has the refillable "flask" type item ala Dark Souls, but you get a gradual-acting healing item too. I stockpiled like 150 of them by the end, and it really helps you survive much longer than you might otherwise, whether exploring Paris or doing a boss battle. My only complaint is that you can't cancel out of an attack, into a dodge or block, but to be fair, I don't remember if Bloodborne let you do that either. I got used to it fast enough, and it makes you really strategize how aggressive you want to get with just button-mashing your attacks versus anticipating the enemy's moves to keep yourself safe.Anyway, I came away really loving it. But, I've loved EVERY game from Spiders I've ever played. The game locked up and crashed out two or three times, but otherwise it was very stable, looked and played great, and is NOT janky (bugs, if any, were very minor) like some of their earlier games were. It auto-saves often, so even the couple times that happened, I didn't lose anything. Highly recommended if you enjoy Souls-likes, especially Bloodborne (although the Paris of SteelRising is not as nightmarish as the world in Bloodborne). So yeah! I recommend it.

Good Souls Like
Steel Rising is a "souls like" RPG with a lot going for it. The visuals are excellent and seeing a destroyed and over ran France is quite the sight. Your character is pretty cool and the customization is great. Only real issue is the combat feels like it has not weight to it. I will hit a mech enemy and there is no recoil and or anything to follow my attacks. Makes sense because they are not human but takes away from the experience of well thought out combat. Overall great game
