Here's how you save money. Not only will you save by getting 5 smart plugs in one but you'll save money when using this on the electric suckers like TVs and electronics always pulling amperage.First, you can control each plug or the whole unit. Download the Jinvoo app. Plug the unit in, when it's flashing, use the app to connect to it and connect it to wifi. Edit the name of each plug. I have Alexa and Dots. Open Alexa, click smart home, and discover the device and link your accounts. And that's it. Now I can tell Alexa to turn off living room light, turn on living room fireplace or turn off or on the entire room. If I'm not home, I can use the app to turn lights on or off while I'm out of town.Using Alexa, I can also set up routines like saying "Start my day" and the lights in the office go on, the coffee pot turns on.I bought 4 and it's the best thing ever. No more forgetting to turn off lights downstairs and getting out of bed. No more fumbling for lights in a dark room. Killing the power drain is just a bonus.The usbs are not individually controlled. The whole bank goes off so be sure to name the other plugs something distinct. For example, I first named my office unit, Office. I named the lights office lights. Alexa sometimes doesn't pick up the "lights" part, so turned off the whole unit leaving my phones uncharged. Name the unit something different, I changed the unit to "study" while the switches are "office lights" "office charging". Living Room unit is named "family room" while outlets are "Living Room Light", "Living room TV" and so on. Hope this helps. Smart homes don't get much easier.One important note though, this only works on 2.4 wifi. Most wifi is dual band but make sure your echos, google homes and the device you are using to set them up are all on the same 2.4 band.

UPDATE!!!. 8/1/17..UPDATE.!!!.UPDATE.!!!!!......i contacted the seller, and told him the unit, i received did not work, he sent me a new one, complete with Instructions, and the set up was flawless !!...........Works well, as stated........and at this point, I recommend this product , you can use it with Amazon"s Alexa, or just control the unit from your iPhone or Android.......I think you will like it!!! as I do mine....

After purchasing a standard wifi plug a year ago, I was auprised by how convenient they are! When I saw the wifi power strip and that it was only $30, I knew I had to have it and i'm glad I got it! Its very easy to setup, just download the Jinvoo Smart app from the app store, Plug in the power strip and hold down the power button until it flashes. Mine connected forst try and now I can set timers for my plugs. I also like the fact that this comes with 4 usb plugs, It makes the entire device very convenient and a great deal! I would highly recommend this device over a typical wifi plug!

I had my power strip connected to Alexa so I can power things on and off with voice command but it stopped working in January 2021. I waited to see if it was a glitch and it needed an update and nothing. I removed it from my devices and tried to add it again and it wasn’t found. I even reset my power strip and nothing. I have to go on the Jinvoo app to turn things on or off. If you’re getting this because it claims to be compatible with Alexa, don’t get it. It doesn’t work and it hasn’t worked with Alexa for 2 months now

This is a sturdy, quality made smart strip that's easy to set up with a Smart Life or Jinvoo App. The Jinvoo is a little easier because it steps you through the strip AND each plug. The Smart Life route requires you to find new devices within the Alexa app. Be aware that most of these smart strips are 10 amp and the individual smart wifi plugs that are typically 15 amp. 10 amps is sufficient for fans and small heaters, but not air conditioners or tools with heavy electric motors...just be aware of that.

My wife and I bought this for our lizards terrarium to control each of the three heat lamps individually, and it works great! I've setup routines for Alexa to turn off / on the daytime and nightime lamps as appropriate as well as the smart bulb we have in our normal desk lamp. I love that each of the plugs can be labelled and controlled individually. The only downside to it is that it appears that all of the USB ports are tied together and can only be controlled as a single unit. This is not an issue for me since I am not using the USB ports anyway, but that would be disappointing if I needed to use them.

I bought this power strip to replace an older and bigger one. Although this one only has 4 sockets, it functions better than the one replaced. I like the nice spacing between each socket because it fits all different sharp of adapters. The 4 USB sockets eliminate the need of using many USB adapters. You can see the before and after pictures I posted. It looks much cleaner for the same number of items plugged in. And the sweet bonus is that it uses the “Smart Life” app which I have been using for many other light bulbs and smart plugs around my house. Setup is really fast and easy. Alexa picks it up right away.

This is an excellent product if you are looking for both Wifi (Voice based) control and protection against power surge for your electronics.It arrived neatly packed and setup was very quick. Keep in mind, it supports only Alexa and Google home.The pleasant surprise is the Jinvoo App that allows control of each individual socket and usb area (all together).Now I wish the setup manual didn't need a magnifying glass, but, that's just the only quirk with me.Update: Still 5 stars, however, I noticed the Jinvoo app now allows me to control each individual socket from Alexa...Woohoo !
