Exactly what I was looking for!
I've been practicing martial arts for a few years on/off and just recently decided to learn how to properly use a bo. This one was perfect, right combination (at least for a beginner) of strength, flexibility, and weight. I've been using it already for a few weeks and it feels better by day.And yes, it had a couple of small dings, and a little bit of warp (unless you plan to order plastic, or fiberglass wood will have natural imperfections). I simply lightly sanded the whole stick, stained and oiled as needed, and clamped to a straight surface to correct the small bend. Right now is perfect, it slides smoothly on my hands, and so far it has been a great addition to my training routine.

Arrived perfectly straight!
My greatest concern before buying the staff is whether it would arrive straight or warped. It arrived perfectly straight! It is also very smooth which is great for shifting hand positions. I put a 7/8" cane tip on the end for hiking. It was a tight fit. It's excellent wax wood! The Chinese have used it to make weapons for eons because it's strong and flexible. I'm looking to attach a spear head to the top. I saw this on youtube. I'll cut a thin track with a hack saw blade and wedge a piece of sharpened metal ( wood strapping and a angle grinder). Then drill a bolt through and hand fasten with a wing nut. Amazon does sell a spear head but I'm considering making it myself. I'm very happy with the purchase!

It's worth the sale
I use this staff for fitness. It's a little bit stiff but good quality overall.

Good staff
A wax finish give this staff a nice grip, it’s slightly bent but not to the point of un-usability, says it’s 6ft but I’m 6ft and it’s about 5-6 inches taller than me but it doesn’t bother me

Excellent well-made staff!
Excellent quality! Well made wooden staff. Bought it to practice Silabam, an ancient stick fighting of Tamil Nadu. Feels good to hold. Not sure if this is what is used traditionally but I made do with this. Very happy with its durability. It didn’t have any chip marks nor was it bent. Excellent well made!

Nice, turned waxwood staff. Would (and did) buy again.
It shipped fast and arrived fine. It appears to be a turned waxwood staff, very smooth. Waxwood I've used before in martial arts tends to be saplings so you can feel bumps and irregularities of the natural growth. This can be fine, and I've enjoyed staves like that. But this one has been turned down on a lathe, so it is all smooth, which I think will work well for my spear. It slides very smoothly thru my hands, but there is a part of me that misses the bumps of the natural, unturned staves.I ordered another, we'll see if it arrives safe too. If they arrive too bent, you can wet them down and correct the bend.

What the Crack!
The package arrived on time. It was a big box for just one staff and there was no packing material. This might explain why both ends of the staff seem a bit worn. It's more likely that the wearing was from how the staff was stored. I am concerned about the staff's integrity because one end looks like it is already starting to split. The wood is completely unfinished and untreated. This will be good for the buyer who wants to do that kind of thing for himself, it just would have been good to have known that I was going to have to do extra work before paying almost $50 for something I thought would be ready to go out of the box. Another thing of note is the staff is tapered. One end is bigger than the other. The tapering isn't a huge deal, it just throws off the balance of the staff a little.

Different from my last, but good quality
It is a wooden staff. I gave it four stars because I am not quite sure how to rate wooden sticks. My only other experience with similar products is the waxwood staff I used for pretty much everything, so I will compare it to that. This product is much straighter and has no imperfections. It is also not at all flexible or pliable as my last staff. I have not stress tested this staff much; my last staff was used for everything from fighting to pole vaulting. This staff is rather heavy and I have no doubt it could cause some good damage if used in a real fight.
