Awesome starter !!!
The starter amount is a very small amount, but don’t let that fool you. It arrived & I opened it. It had a good sour dough aroma to it. No hooch on the top of the starter so it wasn't starving but it also was not very active. No bubbles or any trace of them. No worries!!! Trust the process. Just start feeding it immediately. I feed it once a day for a week. It had great activity by day 3. I baked a loaf yesterday at the one week mark. Float test was good. It was UNBELIEVABLY crazy delicious. I tried to attach my pictures but it wasn't working. Sorry. This was my first time baking sour dough. It was pretty simple. It isn't fair that several buyers wrote it wasn't what they thought. Too much trouble... not worth it... and ranked it with such low stars. It was their lack of knowledge not that this isn't a good solid product, because it is. For those people who know about feeding a starter and want delicious tasting bread and other things from the disgards from it. This is worth the time & energy. I plan to use the disgard to make homemade tortillas, muffins, pizza dough and faccoscia bread. No waste. I strongly suggest you watch some Youtube tutorials particularly Baker Bettie, however there are a ton of great people out there on the subject matter of sour dough to learn from. I rarely review products and I thought it was best to wait until I did the whole process & this was screaming to me to leave a review. Had I reviewed it upon the first day it arrived, I would have said I would had been disappointed in the very small amount I received but given it a 4 star. However, you don't need a lot to get your starter going and you'll understand that the more if you learn from others and educate yourself on the process. I am so thrilled to have this starter. The possibilities are endless of what you can use it in. It has the most wonderful flavor and it appears to be so strong & very active. Best choice ever! Thanks 😊

WWJD Worms is great.
Great starter from WWJD Worms. Have bought all their starters. They all work great. Come with directions. Great flavor and very active. Seems there is another seller on this listing selling an imitation product so be careful. Make sure you buy from wwjd worms and should report the other seller.

Amazing starter
This is my first time trying sourdough, though I’ve wanted to for a long time. I received my started early in the week in a small jar (very tightly closed). I had to get my husband to pry this open because I couldn’t get it to budge. It came with a set of very clear instructions on how to bring it back to life. How often to feed it and when it should be active by. You feed it every 22 hrs for the first 36 hours and then every 24 hrs after that. Unless you put it in the fridge, then you feed it weekly (only once active).I used mine yesterday and it was starting to get active, but my jar was full so I made a quadruple batch of sourdough bread. It said in the recipe to let it rise for 10-12 hours. I put mine in the oven with the light on and came back to it overflowed all over my oven. There is nothing in it to make it rise but the sourdough starter. So I formed it into loaves and baked it. It is absolutely delicious and so spongy and soft. I cut the first loaf into 5 pieces after dinner (so everyone was stuffed). They were all going to try a bite…. And the whole loaf disappeared! Even the cat was eating it.The day I was making my bread my starter got real active and rose so good. So I’m guessing my bread dough did the same as the starter. It is so tasty and definitely worth it. I love it. So does my family.

Received the starter today.First, the starter was in the plastic container with the white, screw on lid. The container is very sturdy. Seller says deli style container, but this seems much more sturdy than what I would expect from a "deli" your container. I drew a black line to show the amount that was in the container, maybe a third of the way full. This should be expected. I would suspect that if the container were full, it would explode in the package before reaching it's destination. The jar was then wrapped in a waterproof USPS type mailer bag before being placed in a small box that was just big enough for the jar so that it did not get banged up and possibly broken in shipping. On top of the well wrapped jar was the invoice and the printed instructions. The instructions are so clear on the feeding schedule that I don't believe anyone will have any problem following along.Second, upon opening the jar, it has a wonderful, sour aroma that smelled just like my grandmother's kitchen when I was a kid. She used to make sourdough bread almost daily to have on the table with supper and for toast the next morning. Some wonderful memories were brought back when I opened this jar.Third, there were 94 grams, just under 3.5 ounces, of starter in the container. This is plenty to get started with since you feed it every 12 hours and it doubles itself with each feeding getting started. I won't start discarding until after the 3rd feeding, at which point I should have about 28 ounces of starter. Finally, as you can see in my pictures, I have moved the starter to my fancy-shmancy starter jar. I gave it it's first feeding this evening (Monday, June 5th, 2023). If all goes well I should be able to start making bread by the weekend. If you don't see any updates after the weekend, it will be safe to assume everything went splendidly and the taste is wonderful. I will try to remember to update the review after the first use, but I rarely remember to update unless something goes wrong, so don't count on it.**Edited to add** best tasting sourdough bread ever. And the pizza crust I made with the discard.... DELICIOUS. Had a situation though and starter was left on the counter, unfed, for about 2 weeks. This amazing seller misunderstood and thought I had refrigerated it (meaning it should have perked right back up) when I was asking about ways to save it and was going to replace it at no cost to me. Of course I can't allow that, it wasn't his fault, it was mine. But the fact that it was offered should tell you about his ethics. And talk about quick responses... Even on a holiday weekend, he responded within less than 2 hours. So great product (yes I've purchased more), and amazing service. I wish I could give ten stars.I'll be dehydrating some this time just in case as a backup.
