Ren is the Perfect Alpha for Ally
We met Ally in the Original Rock Chick book and while her story has progressed a little in each of those books I’m finally glad that we got to her book. She is Lee and Hank Nightingale’s sister and so that means that she is as tough as they come and has the bug to catch bad guys as much as either one of them. After a few really emotional Rock Chick books it was nice to get back to fun shenanigan filled Rock Chick feel of the first book again…that isn’t to say that it doesn’t become emotional because by the end it totally was. So enjoy the flirty fun fighting in the beginning because later it is going to hurt a little.****“Explains why apartments are exploding,” Luke commented. “A Rock Chick has set her sights on a hapless male.”I felt pressure in my head. A lot of it. But I still managed to turn it Luke’s way and declare, “He set his sights on me.”“Same thing,” Luke muttered, one side of his mustachioed lips tipped up.“Were you hapless?” I asked.“Totally,” he replied immediately.“You do know what hapless means,” I snapped.“I didn’t say I was hapless now,” he corrected. “I was hapless then, while she was running me through the ringer.”“I’m thinking Ava saw it the other way around,” I informed him.“She’d be wrong,” Luke informed me. ***So yes there are apartments exploding, shots fired, a creepy stalker, potheads, angry sex, alpha male sex, a breach of the 4th wall and Rock Chick books in a Rock Chick book and shenanigans. But there are also some serious things happening. There are some big reveals into Darrius and what his issues might be setting up for a book that I’m sure is to come about him. There is also the culmination of Ally’s story that ends up being in Smithie’s strip club and for once it wasn’t funny but serious and sad. Still Rock Chicks always come to the rescue of their friends.***“I thought you made coffee.”“We do. We also fight crime. Don’t you read the papers?” Tex asked, and I heard Jet giggle. I was right with her.“Um… yes, but I didn’t know you did it when you were making coffee,” the man replied.“Crime don’t happen when you want it to,” Tex returned. “You gotta be prepared. You gotta plan. And that’s why we’re havin’ a meetin’. Now shut it and wait until we’re done.” ***There are some great heart to hearts with Ally and the Hot Bunch as she breaks into a man’s world and I really liked what a few of them had to say.***“Learn now, you’re a woman. This is a man’s job, not because more women don’t have the stones to do it, but because they think they need to have stones in order to do it. The way of the world, men can do s*** you can’t. What you gotta remember is, you can do s*** that men can’t. You play to that. You use it. I am not gonna treat you like one of the guys ‘cause you’re not one of the guys. That doesn’t mean I won’t treat you with respect. And what you learn now is, even if you get treated differently, there’s no difference. Yeah?” ***And Ren *swoons a little* Ren was perfect for Ally. Any other KA Alpha male would have lost his mind with her. But I totally adored that while Ren might have preferred it if Ally wanted to make coffee and be a stay at home mom, when she made it clear that those weren’t her dreams while he didn’t like it and threw a bit of a fit he came to terms and supported her dreams in every way possible.***“I’m gettin’ that my woman puts her mind to something, everyone better watch their *ss. Because whatever she’s got a mind to do, she’s gonna kick its *ss.” ***Ren was totally wonderful.KA always makes me feel like I need to turn in my feminist card. She breaks all the rules I seem to have for other authors and books and I don’t care because I’m so wrapped up in the story. I mean I should have been upset that Ally’s first real paying job as a private detective is in Smithie’s stripping. I should have been more upset when she did a girl on girl strip off with Lottie to catch the bad guy. BUT I don’t care. It was funny and sorta fun and it isn’t like being hot was her only superpower….she totally got to grab some guys junk and twist it all about and smack some jerks around too.It did get a little cheesy when it is revealed who is writing the Rock Chick books….but since I had that figured out in book 2 I really didn’t care much and thought part of it was kinda cute. I was expecting it so it didn’t take me out of the story too much. The last few chapters were super emotional and KA always gets me with her hospital scenes….I might have cried just a little bit during those. But one of the things I like the most about all of KAs books is that we usually get an epilogue and I’m always a sucker for the HEA that comes at the end of these.

This is the end *sniff*
Kristen Ashley has been one of my favorite authors since reading the Dream Man series a few years ago. She truly has a gift to tell a story that tugs on your emotions -- launching you from tears to laughter in just the flip of a page. And she did not disappoint in Rock Chick Revolution! Not. At. All. This book was a stroke of genius on her part. It was the story of Allyson "Ally" Nightingale and Lorenzo "Ren" Zano but it was actually the epilogue for the entire Rock Chick series. Yes my friends...this book ends a beautiful saga with our friends in Denver. But never fear...Ashley promises to continue the saga of smexy commandos by following Mace and Stella to Los Angeles. So YAY!!! We get a whole new crop of alpha men to drool over.So really...now on to my review.I will not do this story any justice by recapping it for you. It is truly one that you have to read and immerse yourself in. Fully! But I will say that this story was an amazing read. As I said, she wrote it as sort of an epilogue for the series so we get to see the progression of the lives of our favorite characters. Marriages...children...salvation. This story absolutely drew me in from the very first page. Zen and Ally not only smoke up the pages with their physical chemistry but the banter between them and Ren's pursuit of Ally was just...WOW! I have no other word for it. Readers of this series should have guessed that Ally's story would be something special. But honestly, I would have never guessed it would be THIS special. As we walked through the pages of the other characters lives she was a prominent presence there. But, her story truly dug down deep and showed the readers who she really was a character. She was tough, sure. But Ally had a core of sweet sensitivity that we got to see on various levels throughout this story. We also get to see her "hobby" turn into her passion. She's a Nightingale so sticking it to the bad guys was in her blood. And boy howdy did she do that in Revolution. And Ren *le sigh*...We were first introduced to Ren in Rock Chick Revenge where he is very interested in Rock Chick, Ava Barlow. He pursues her persistently and even fights Luke for/because of her. And THAT is where his story and Ally's story begins. The night of the fight sets Ren and Ally on an irrevocable journey that leads them from lust and passion to a deep abiding love. And IT. WAS. AMAZING. to watch Ally crumble under Ren's seductive persistence. And the secondary storyline about Darius *shiver*...it broke my heart. Darius lived such a hard life and Ally loved him like a brother through it all...a "brother of another color" (I loved that). Darius always had Ally's back when she went out on her missions. He helped her, schooled her, and trained her. And at the very end of the story *sniffle* he saved her. That part of the story had me in tears...absolutely in tears. But I was so happy to read about his life in the future where he actually DID get a happily ever after. I would love it if Ashley would actually write his story as part of the new series *big pleading eyes*.Rock Chick Revolution was witty, sexy, humorous and absolutely BRILLIANT. I so look forward to seeing what Ashley does next. But until then....ROCK ON!!!

The Rock Chick Series rocked my world
The entire series is perfect! Although they are 10 books you don't get bored nor have the feeling to be reading a copy of the previous book: each book is different yet the fun you get is the same (if not more). This is definitely a MUST READ!
