Suspended in a puree of chiles, rice wine, red rice, and sesame oil, these large cubes of fermented tofu are rich and spicy. Fermented bean curd has an intense aroma, and a tangy flavor; red bean curd can be served over rice, in braised meat and poultry dishes, or blended into sauces or soups. Try a "pink" fried rice, made with garlic, ginger, green onions, carrots, and preserved red bean curd, garnished with cilantro and black sesame seeds.

I always used to have such a hard time finding ...
I always used to have such a hard time finding this stuff at the closet Asian market where I live, so even though it's pricey, I find it's worth the time/gas saved.

I had never tried this until today
I bought this to make a vegan blue cheese recipe, and of course I had to take a taste before I mixed it all in. Its very soft like silken tofu, has a bit of carbonation sting to it, very salty. It would be great with rice as a side dish in small quantities. Good stuff

Beancurds were liquified, twice in a row across two separate orders
This my second order for this item. The first time, the beancurds were liquified: that is, the bean curds had lost their structural integrity and had disintegrated into liquid form. I figured the first order to be an anomaly. The second time I ordered the item again, it was again liquified. Do not order this item.
