Simply brilliant for the price (updated review)
With the recent 2nd lockdown I was unable go into my GP surgery to use their blood pressure machine. This caused an issue as I take medication for blood pressure and want to monitor it carefully. This product was my solution, and I guess this is my story. The item arrived earlier than expected and was packaged very well with no damage at all to the box. The monitor comes with two different sized cuffs that I think would fit any arm unless you're a hulk in which case larger cuffs can be purchased I believe from braun direct. There is a colour led screen that is bright and easy to read.Within minutes of unpacking the monitor it was squeezing my arm and taking my blood pressure as well as my pulse. It is tight but not as tight as others have reported and not as tight as the GP's machines. The machine is easy to use with its simple display, I downloaded the app, set up a profile and by the magic of Bluetooth my readings appeared on my phone. These can now be saved on my phone as well and sent go my GP via email to negate the need for so many appointments hopefully. The readings seem accurate, they are in line with my usual readings from the doctor so I'm happy with that side of things. I will say it'll be interesting taking my blood pressure at different times of the day to see what trends it goes through. The machine also has two profiles and a sixty memory for both I think if you don't want to send your readings to a phone. The app is great and shows a lot of information and allows you to set reminders for medication and blood pressure readings. The machine is so easy to use, just pop the cuff on, press one button and off it goes. Can't really get any easier that that can you?In short for the offer I got this machine at, and the performance it gives it really was a good buy. I cannot recommend it enough if you need to watch your blood pressure.Update. Apprx two weeks later.I have had to return this monitor, while I was haply with the results my father in law took ill. We took this blood pressure three times whilst on the phone to a GP and the results led to paramedics being called out. They took his readings with their monitor and it was all in 'normal(ish)' range. I asked for them to test me and I was showing quite high, while this monitor was showing slightly high. The paramedic tested herself with both machines and the home one was about 20% out all of the time. This led to paramedics wasting a trip and me passing 2 weeks of false readings to my gp which now has to be sorted out.

Probably saved my life
I started getting bad chest pain which I just thought was bad indigestion. My daughter suggested I buy a blood pressure machine so I purchased this one. The reading was 168/103 with a pulse of 98. A call to our doctor with this information had me admitted into hospital where I had two stents fitted in my right main artery. Consultant said I was days away from instant death. I reckon this things high blood pressure detection contributed towards saving my life.

Braun iCheck 7 vs Omron Evolv: a tie! Superb machines both.
I've had the chance to put this through its paces over two days now, and, today, I’ve been able to compare it with another premium product, the Omron Evolv. These are both truly high quality machines – classy, stylish and practical (and far from cheap – but keep your eyes on Amazon Warehouse pricing!).When I first tried the Braun iCheck 7 (which fits on the wrist rather than the upper arm), I struggled with it and disappointment was the result. I was finding the readings to be erratic and often far too low; but now I've discovered the importance of correct posture – and I am very impressed with it. It has consistently matched the Omron Evolv. Basically, it is important to sit yourself at the equivalent of a dining or kitchen table on a dining chair or stool, rather than slumped on a soft settee or armchair. This is the key to success. Using either machine like this, and being in a restful state, not having just eaten or drunk coffee or alcohol, both machines work brilliantly and give consistently matching (and I believe accurate) readings.I attach a photo of me using the two, Braun and Omron, and of the last two readings I took (but I took many, just to be sure). I realise others have found the Braun reads low. I think it's a matter of patience and posture, as I've tried to explain. I feel very confident in the machine indeed.Which do I prefer? I can’t choose – both work completely well, and with neither having any tubes, they are both equally easy to use, and both much easier than the more traditional cuff and tube variety. The Braun is the quickest and easiest because it only has to be placed on the wrist, but not by any significant margin. It’s also by far the smallest, but it doesn’t come with a case, whereas the Omron has a nice quality zipped and padded case included. I think you’d be very impressed by either. Both have excellent apps that connect them to your phone by Bluetooth and this has worked 100% of the time, smoothly. The apps both integrate with the Apple Health app, too, which automatically pulls in the readings, so if you have an Apple Watch 4, you now have the ability to measure and log heart rate, heart rhythm (ECG) and blood pressure. If you have any kind of rhythm disturbance, such as arrhythmia, fibrillation or flutter, you will be going to your specialist well prepared with very useful data over time.

Be very careful if your BP needs careful monitoring
I had a mini stroke through high BP and it is crucial I monitor it daily. Thought I would up-date my machine and bought this one. Wow new meds are working a treat as the bottom figure is 10 points down! It was only when I compared it to the old machine and the one in the Dr's that I realized it consistently shows 10 points down in error!!

This is a dangerously inaccurate blood pressure monitor, not for medical use.
This is a dangerously inaccurate blood pressure monitor, and it should not be used for medical use. Especially if pregnant - do not use this device if you are pregnant. This device reads low, so it gives you a good BP reading even though your BP is high. We brought this kit to the hospital and compared it to the readings from the doctor's manual measurement. The Braun showed good readings (120/80) but the doctor's manual measurement confirmed that the BP was actually higher than 150/95. This device is therefore extremely dangerous. Do not buy it. If you have already bought it, then return it. If it's passed the return date and you no longer can return it, then destroy it and recycle the pieces.
