Bassetts Jelly Babies Carton (460g / 16.2oz)

I stumbled on these Jelly Babies by accident while surfing through Amazon, suffering insomnia one night. My interest was piqued with the wonderful reviews. Of course, this is largely because I'm a gummy candy specialist. By that, I mean, I have tried them all. I thought!I love the way gummies caress the sweet tooth without adding fat. And, a few go a long way, so you don't have to overdo on carbs, either.My Jelly Babies arrived today, two weeks prior to the earliest estimated delivery, which made me happy. I digress, but they were delivered to the wrong address. Thankfully an honest neighbor delivered them to my door. Jeez, do I need to purchase 'readers' for all those who routinely deliver my purchases --- and mail. They don't get that right, either!Once into the package, I was delighted. The flavors are distinct and yummy, and I love the way they are softer inside, than typical gummies, that can sometimes give the jaw a workout. I can see why they're called 'Jelly Babies,' instead of 'Gummy,' because of the difference in chew factor.They contain real fruit juices, along with concentrated vegetable extracts ( oddly: spinach, stinging nettle & turmeric). It is noted that they do contain Sulfites and may contain wheat, so be advised if you must avoid such.The box is really cute and would make a great gift with just a bow on top. The side of the box had a TO and FROM gift label, ready for you to write the lucky recipient's name. You just need to hope they'll share a few when they open the box.

I wanted to try these NOT because of Dr Who, but because of Doc Martin. There's a scene where pregnant Louisa fancies some jelly babies and Doc Martin scolds her about not needing sweets and excess weight gain, blah blah blah. She's pregnant. Anyway, she was snapping their little heads off and it just made me want to try them! They are truly delicious and unlike the gummy bears/worms/etc that I've had here in the USA. They are very soft, and the flavors are much stronger and more delicious than our jelly candy. Think jelly beans compared to jelly bellies (not that these taste like that, I'm just giving the example of what a difference there is in the candies). Another thing I like that I thought I wouldn't is the outer dusting on them. It's not as sweet as straight powdered sugar, but definitely not just corn starch. The shipping does take a little while, but mine arrived before the expected date. They are incredibly fresh (detected by the softness of the candy and strong flavor). I would recommend these to anyone that likes gummy candy, as these are superior!

Super delicious and great for gifts!

Most enjoyable sweets. A lifetime treat that never fails to delight. BUT, beware! They are addictive--you cannot have just one. I know, I have loved them for over 50 years now.

I didn't buy these because of Doctor Who...I've been eating them since I was four so I know Jelly Babies. The product hasn't changed much over the years and that's a good thing. Don't mess with a known hit. Another review said that the purple ones taste like cough meds...they don't. In fact if Bassetts would make an entire packet of just the purple ones it would be a best seller. The purple ones are black current flavored and most people fight over them when they share a box. I bought these to share the tradition with my granddaughter. I hope she enjoys them as much as I have for all these years. This box arrived earlier than expected which was much appreciated. I will buy from this seller again! If you can just send me a pork pie or two...that would be a real hit. Thank you

Would you like a Jelly Baby? Yes, I would. And must say these were nice and fresh - and a fun blast from the past. Worth it to treat yourself and watch some Dr. Who on the telly.

Yes they are pretty sweet. Try(key word try)to eat these sparingly or you will be racing around the room on a "sugar high." They are very tasty, especially if you buy them from ISE Forest Garden. I think these were the freshest I ever tried. I even had some that a friend from England brought w/them on the plane over to the states, but the ones I ordered from Ireland from ISE Forest Garden were somehow way fresher. They were so tasty, I had to buy another box from them. No, I didn't eat the whole box in a week, but I know they may be gone soon, and I need backup!

These things are awesome! I just wish there was some place local I could buy them, as they took a bit to get here (I live in U.S. and they had to come from overseas), and as such, I had to pay a little more for them. As far as the candy itself (because thats what a review is about), it tastes great! Its kind like a gummy that you would find here, but soft and not chewy, and tastes more like its made from real juices rather than the artificial stuff we get here in the states. All in all, its a good candy, and worth the extra cost to get it here once in awhile.

Was at home the day unexpectedly when the postman rang; the parcel was too large for my mail slot and so I got this package...containing two one pound boxes of a candy I've not had in yonks!JELLY BABIES! And like any proper child I got into them whenever the Fourth Doctor offered them to anyone. We had Marks and Spencer in Canada back then...lovely times...In the package along with the astonishingly delicious Jelly Babies there was also a strange note...telling me to order them that day and use the coupon code "Timelord"; my estimated time of delivery was ten minutes forty-eight seconds before ordering; which had been right about when the postman rang.Odd thing...she wasn't the regular postman; obviously; she being a woman, and all...and there was no post van on the street. Not half a minute after she left I heard the strangest of sounds outside...like keys on a piano wire...

Disappointing.... The box was only 460g......
