Sometimes EMT shears won't do (even the nicer ones like X-Shear), and household or "shop" scissors aren't quite right, while shop snips or cutters/pliers are overkill or too fat. This kind of heavy duty narrow blade snip is perfect for a lot of things.I've had some of the cheaper knockoffs (these themselves being something of a knockoff, though) and they're still ok...these are a bit better all things considered. Between the listings I was curious about the steel they were using but it turns out it's basically the same stainless steel with no appreciable difference at all for this application. Stainless isn't the best choice for durable cutters but for the most part these are just fine. They make quick work of any cardboard or plastic packaging, even some thinner plastic sheet materials, foam, thin art-type metal sheet/foils, and smaller plastic rod or tubing. I used these to snip away the coiled wire binding from some old presentation briefs and they did ok without too much effort, but that soft steel wire was about their limit and they showed slight damage/wear after that (about a dozen of them, so hundreds of little wire snips for that job). I got the longer pair on this order and the extra length and leverage does come in handy...the shorter ones are fine most of the time.

After comparing these scissors to the ones I normally use, I saw that these scissors are thicker , the handle is easier to grip and after cutting plastic for about an hour , the scissors were still easy to handle. I like the safety features also. I am still going to experiment more with them, cutting different types of plastic mainly, but so far they are something I wish I had known about before. I am going to buy two more, just to have them handy around the house.

Bought these for the boat for fishing. Great quality shears and performed well.

My thumbs have been hurting me lately, making it uncomfortable to use regular scissors. I thought that it would've been more comfortable to use these - and it was. Unfortunately they didn't cut as well as the scissors I had intended them to replace. One example was when trying to cut through 6 or 7 pieces of paper, the paper would get jammed between the blades.

These were purchased to cut pinecones… works great!!!!sturdy and easy to use!

Purchased May 23rd.Already replacing them with something else. They started rusting the FIRST USE. 3 months later it takes all my strength just to open them. Terrible, just terrible. Keep looking elsewhere. I went Titanium.

Purchased these scissors to cut Dynamat and they worked pretty well. Cuts were clean but I had to tighten the bolt on the scissors because it worked its way loose. Overall, I’m happy with them.

Yes, exactly what I needed. I constantly have a pile of cardboard boxes of different sizes and shapes. I cut them, easily, down to size for recycling with these scissors. But be very careful when using, they are very sharp. A good buy.
