So easy
Great pricing, very appreciative. Came quick, was correct item for my vehicle, exactly what I ordered. Install directions were easy to understand so reprogramming was smooth sailing!

Unfortunately, this remote comes with some issues
Since one of our editors allowed us to take their keyfob apart after it stopped charging (for science!), we decided to buy into a replacement for them so they have a fresh new fob to be able to control their alarm/engine-start with. This fob is exactly the same model as it claims, although the product image isn't accurate (thankfully). The image showed in this listing shows the older non-rechargeable model. Rest assured though, the one they send is the model number listed as you can see in our images here.It paired quickly/easily to the vehicle and was working within around half a minute at most, and these really do have a great range. They are expensive! Thankfully this is a better price then you find at dealers (which usually charge $99+), even though you will still feel the hit if you are rough enough to damage these. This is where we recommend one really important thing. Be VERY careful with the micro-USB port when charging these fobs. The reason our editor's remote stopped working was that the micro-USB port fell off the board inside. He promised he was easy on it to the best of his knowledge when it came to plugging a cable into it ("as easy as he is with any other device").The solution we came up with was to buy into a USB cable with swappable magnetic heads (we got this one on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2GS6ltP). This way the micro-USB connection rides inside of the port at all times and the wire pops off easily if pressure is applied to the port. Hopefully, that will prevent any damage to the sensitive port. It seems that Viper should have added a little more solder to this little guy! Especially for the price that it costs to buy into these each time something goes wrong (the solder points are quite terrible). You can see the USB tip inserted into the remote in our images as well! It doesn't stick out too much or cause any issues. It should be a working solution.Update 04/2020: Less than a year later, the remote no longer makes any sound. Our editor whom we bought this for enlightened us that the one we originally took apart (USB port was damaged) was their second unit already. Their first one stopped making any sounds and the audio shop that installed it had them buy a new one saying it had failed (on the audio front at least). This kind of defeats the purpose of a two-way remote that is supposed to make all sorts of noise if your alarm goes off. So remote #1 audio failed within a year. Remote #2 experienced a damaged USB port due to poor soldering on Viper's part. Now, remote #3 has experienced the same audio failure as remote #1, just 9 months after buying it. It seems this is a terrible case of manufacturing woes when it comes to the quality of parts and the work done to build them. Because of this, we wound up dropping the score to just two stars. Sadly, if you invest in this expensive remote, you should plan to have to buy a new one pretty much every year. It will burn a pretty big hole in your wallet. We kept the 2 stars only because of its performance when it comes to range. The radio, at least, has a solid range to it still. The LED lights on the buttons still work (again, not a lot of good it will do when the remote is in your pocket and you can't hear anything).Honestly, you should just stick to a normal one-way remote that comes with the alarm at this point, as the selling points of this one will fail on you.**If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so I know. This helps me provide quality feedback in the future.

Great remote hard to program
It is very hard to program. I tried to program it and was not successful. I tried a location that program key fobs and they couldn't. Finally someone at Bestbuy was able to do. So far no issues. Is working great

It IS metal!
Some photos show plastic and some show a metal outlining, and I am happy to report IT IS METAL! My last single button remote was plastic and broke off my keychain never to be found again. I wanted to buy one with a little more features and the 2 way, lock/unlock and extra function button is super nice to have. I will update this review if anything happens, but I received it today and it was very easy to program and I am extremely happy so far!

Took over a week to charge, and the battery died in 2 hours.
So I got this remote in the mail, all fine and dandy. Plugged it in, and left it for an hour or two. Came back, unplugged it, nothing. Left it for another few hours, same thing. After it finally took a charge, I got it paired only to find out that the battery lasted about 2 hours until it said it was dead. Charged it back up, and said full but 2 or so hours later, dead. Can anyone explain or elaborate? Thanks…

WORKS GREAT BUT NEEDS TO BE PAIRED FIRST
THE REMOTE MATCHES THE ONE I'VE HAD FOR YEARS. SINCE i BOUGHT THE ORIGINAL REMOTE-START FROM BEST BUY, I HAD TO TAKE THE NEW ONE THERE TO BE "PAIRED" TO THE CAR.
