Interesting knife
As someone that likes different types of knives this one fits the category. It’s solid stainless that fits good in the hand. I took the cord off the top since it did not fit my liking. Knife is ok on sharpness. The locking mechanism for the knife in the sheath works but would require practice to be able to use quickly. Interesting concept.

Decent copy
This is a copy of a Gerber River designed by Blackie Collins. I wanted one that I wouldn’t cry if i lost.

Fills a potential need
I think this was a Japanese design from way back. Needed honing with ceramic rod. Edge stops where serrated part ends. Plain side fully edged. Severe hollow grind very thin behind edge. Long thin point. Mild resemblance to cold steel 4116 German cryo. Seems slightly expensive but ..meh

NICE!
looking at the gerber version on eBay from the 80’s and these things are close to $200. Didn’t want to spend that on nostalgia, I’m actually going to carry it. Knowing me, I’ll eventually lose it. So $20 versus $200? I’ll probably get a couple more b/c I’ve got a sickness. Plus again, I know I’ll lose them over time. But besides that, a really great version of the gerber knife, beautiful, solid construction, very nice lines, well balanced, sharp as you know what. and the knife locks in the sheath, solid. Only problem, my belt is too thick for the clip; it’s plastic and won’t fit. Bends and won’t hook on my belt. So a thinner belt is needed or mollie gear would be a good fit. Can’t say enough about it and I’ll get a couple of more.
