I love this design- the ability to fold the sides down. However, the instructions should be backwards- the fold down section should fold down away from the car for ease of loading. The instructions have you install the fold down towards the car. I really really love this cargo carrier, it’s got the most bang for the buck- easy to install and super sturdy. The red stickers don’t stay on which is another very small complaint, but overall- this guy does well to move stuff.

It's easy to assemble and durable. Fits snug inside the receiver (doesn't rattle) side rails easily fold up and down and held in place w supplied snap pins. My only gripe is that the reflector stickers fell right off and got lost during first use.

It is large enough to hold manyof our camping extras. Blow up Kayak, second tent, chairs, and food boxes. There are many opportunities to find ways of fixing and locking our gear on.The paint finish is also great; it is for heavy-duty use. And I particularly like the high sides. I am always afraid of losing something along the way, but this is definitely a safety feature.

Easy to flip up when not in use, large capacity and good value. No noise and very stable .

I bought this to free up space inside my SUV for long road trips with 3 kids. Perfect for ice chests, chairs, tents, etc. A bit on the heavy side but sturdy and has tall railings that hold a lot and fold up along with the entire unit. I've taken 3 trips with it so far and it's been great. I would recommend an anti-rattle stabilizer like the CZC AUTO Hitch Tightener and a lock to keep it in place. Master Lock Receiver Lock, 1/2 in. and 5/8 in. Swivel Head Receiver Lock.

I attached this rack to my trailer’s trailer hitch. I stripped two items to the rack. A generator and cooler with a combined weight of 150 pounds. I drove 50 miles up the interstate and stopped for gas. Upon inspection the entire rack head bent to within 3 inches of the pavement. Had a driven any further. The entire thing would’ve been scraping the pavement and who knows what else would happen. I placed the generator in the back of my pick up truck in the cooler inside the camper, and when I stop for the night, I disposed of this rack. I followed the directions to a T. The weight did not come close to 500 pounds listed as acceptable limit. I would not buy the siding McGinn. I do not trust it. The Chinese steel obviously was substandard.

I am sorry I bought this unit. It bent down where the receiver tube slides in. It is supposed to handle 500 pounds. My items came in at about 160 pounds. I believe the metal should be of a thicker to keep from falling. I find this should have not happened, considering I only used it 3 times.
