Lovely and pricey (Ssanggye Chrysanthemum Buds Loose Tea 25g)
This review is for Ssanggye Chrysanthemum Buds Loose Tea 25g. I tried Ssanggye chrysanthemum teabags first and loved those, and for a while that one was unavailable, so I got this as an alternative.Just like the teabag version, this makes bright golden colored tisane, highly fragrant and very faintly sweet. The fragrance and taste are definitely a bit different from the Chinese white chrysanthemum I tried before, and while both are quite pleasant, I think this one is definitely my preferred one. I like that this was 100% organic and produced in Korea. The preparation process also sounds reassuringly sanitary: the manufacturer description says the flowers are lightly blanched, dried, and roasted (not sure this IS the correct translation, though...) to preserve the color and shape, and enhance the taste. Which makes me feel reassured after all the nightmarish reviews featuring bugs in the flowers (!!!) for some of the other chrysanthemum tea available on Amazon. And while I DIDN'T find any bugs in Ssanggye's loose chrysanthemum, but either way, I liked knowing the manufacturing process. My only gripe is that this is a bit pricey ($10.99 at the time of my purchase in May 2023). Visually, having the little blossoms open up in the water is quite beautiful (I use glass mug with glass strainer), and the taste and fragrance are quite lovely. But its price makes it a purchase I definitely would not make regularly. Also, even though having intact blossoms in my mug is nice, this is a bit more of a hassle compared to the unfussy teabag version which doesn't require strainer, and gives the same taste profile.Overall: beautiful, a bit pricey, and needs more effort than plopping a teabag into a mug, but worth it. Nonetheless, not my everyday purchase.

So good
Fragrant and tastes natural. Flower buds are clean and leaves a clean and light aftertaste. Highly recommend!
