Transformers: IDW Collection Phase Two Volume 5 Hardcover – March 7, 2017

Ordered this for my grandson and he loves it.

Normally, prequel stories are hard to pull off to make It canon to the ongoing story. To be honest, I feel Autocracy pulled it off well. I find myself enjoying reading it. Orion Pax(aka Optimus Prime) teamed up with Megatron. Orion Pax obtaining the true Matrix of Leadership to become Optimus Prime. The brutal regime of Zeta Prime. This are highlights of what you would be getting when you read Autocracy. Spotlight Trailcutter was probably the most laugh I had. Trailcutter outsmarting Lockdown. Spotlight Hoist has OverMegaSixWave. That's a combiner that has Overlord,Megatron,Sixshot, and Shockwave. The rest of the book introduced me to the Decepticon Justice Division and their merciless brutality. A combiner makes an appearance in this book. I'm not talking about Devastator by the way. Spotlight Orion Pax on the other hand, shows Orion Pax's obsession with faceplates. I don't want to spoil everything. Hence I am only giving hints. If you have the cash, go pick this up. Transformers IDW Collection Phase 2 Volume 2 is really worth 5 stars.

i HATE revamps. hate 'em. but idw's HARDCOVER (that collects everything)TRANSFORMERS: IDW COLLECTION is my personal tf canon. i never pick revamps over originals AND i have read all tf from uk and STILL these books are so well developed that they evolve the tf mythology. it still cherry picks the best stuff from the classic comics and the cartoon, etc. even BEAST WARS lurk in the shadows. and the continuity pulls no punches SPOILER ALERT............... volume 5 phase 1 the war between the cybertronians destroys Earth, killing over a billion humans. and while other comics would just follow the tf's off-planet, we see the manner in which humans deal with the aftermath. heck, that's the spotlight for the next few volumes. definitely worth the cash. definetly worth a faster publication schedule. maybe, 4 volumes a year to get caught up while sales are good. btw:tf uk is awesome, too.

Autocracy & the MTMTE issues are the main thing that gets this 5 Stars. There is nothing wrong with the RID issues. In fact, they are downright entertaining & better than alot of what the Big 2 are publishing. This just goes to showcase how great MTMTE is. Roberts & Milne are just on one of those special "runs". It's one that people may not fully appreciate (or appreciate at all) until years down the road. As far as this specific hardcover collection, it's absolutely excellent. IDW does not mess around or skimp on their deluxe hardcover edditions. This is a beautifully crafted & ruggedly designed book that will not only look great when displayed, but will essentially last a lifetime if decently cared for.

The main stories of RiD and MTMtE start their full Energon burn in this second volume. The Spotlights and Autocracy series are a good addition, since I'd probably not buy them individually and would've missed out. These are some solid stories, between Cybertron and the Arc, and they're full of plenty character moments, characterization, action, comedy, and intrigue.The art is some of the best detailed and well-designed alien robot art of any Transformers or American comics series out there.

I have liked the IDW Transformers franchise from the beginning, but with Phase 2; they have really been out doing themselves. If you have been reading the previous issues then you will not be disappointed by this volume as it continues to move each title's story forward with the same quality that you have been seeing.

I paid for what the description claimed to be new through prime. What I received was a clearly used book with stickers all over it. I love transformers but the condition of the book is not acceptable for what I paid.

I wish they'd pump these volumes out a little faster. The humour, high-quality artwork and storytelling really are fantastic. I really enjoy reading through them and, since they're older, I can cross-reference to various online sources for story analysis and other interesting information. Keep them coming!

Still cannot get enough of the IDW series. Hope they keep producing these full volumes. I love owning the physical copies rather than digital, single issues and these hard cover volumes are beautiful.
