FairtexMuay Thai Style Training Sparring Gloves, 14 oz, Red

In Love with the Gloves
I have been practicing Muay Thai and MMA for about a year and a half and found that my starter gloves just weren't holding up for me anymore. I did a lot of research to try to pick the best possible (while still affordable) set for my upgrade, and these Fairtex beauties have fit my needs perfectly so far. I have been using them several days a week for the past month--on heavy bags, Thai pads, focus mitts, and in some light sparring--and they are holding up well. The color is just as vivid as the product photo, the leather construction is well-made and sturdy, and they feel great on my hands. They are much more supportive on my wrists than my old pair of Everlasts and they also don't carry too much bulk. My punches feel like they're landing much better as a result. I am a 5'2 woman with small hands, and I find that the 12 oz. are a good fit for me with hand wraps underneath. I will edit my review once more time has passed, but hopefully these gloves will have been a good long-term investment in my training.EDIT: I have been using these gloves 3-4 times a week for training with Thai pads, focus mitts, heavy bags, and light sparring and they still look brand new and feel very supportive. I recommend this brand all the time and will definitely purchase again when I eventually need replacements.

DON’T BUY THESE GLOVES!!!!
These gloves are terrible. I have been using Fairtex gloves for many years now. Just got these gloves today. These gloves are cheap quality. The listing says 100% leather, but I don’t think these are 100% leather. They are more like cheap vinyl. They are not worth $78.80. They should be listed for $35/$45. I would only suggest these gloves for mitt work or double end bag work. Don’t buy these for any type of sparring or heavy bag work. I am very surprised that Fairtex would even charge this much for these gloves. They don’t even compare to my other Fairtex gloves. Look for another type of glove. Stay away from these. The Fairtex Mexican style glove is by far a top quality glove. I would recommend those. Stay away from these. Very disappointed.

Great investment in safety and durability
These are a pair of very good quality gloves. They fit well and the wrist protection is firm and solid. I always wear hand wraps and would definitely recommend wraps with these gloves when breaking them in. I train Muay Thai 3-4 times a week and have a background in amateur olympic style Western boxing. In comparison with other gloves I've tried at various gyms, such as TITLE Classic Pro Style synthetic 16 oz or Everlast MMA 12 oz, I like the wrist protection, padding and firmness of these gloves. Also, these are not as big and clumsy as TITLE gloves. It's worth to invest a few extra bucks in a pair of gloves that will last long, instead of buying cheap ones and taking the risk of injuring the wrist or the knuckles. It's the same as when you buy shoes: they need to fit well. That's why I bought these.

Hold up with regular use
I am 170 lbs and used the 18 oz gloves for a little over 3 yrs. with heavy bag work and kick boxing 2-3 times a week. They are just now showing slight wear in the inside padding where in the pinky finger area. The outside of each glove has held up excellent. Real leather is worth the cost. These gloves are a worth every penny.

Favorite Gloves for Pad Work
I've decided to go with 10oz gloves for pad/heavy bag use. There is enough padding to protect my knuckles. I started off with the 16oz, which wasn't bad at all. I made the switch so I could work on hand speed. The stitching is done well. The leather is high quality. Fairtex makes high quality products with genuine leather. Love these gloves

They are great but they could be better
They fit well, I am a big guy with big hands, the design is awesome, the material feels great, the only problem i have with them is the lack of better wrist support, I bought the 16oz. and the wrists feel too loose, so if you are a heavy hitter and want them for punching bag i would not get them, for sparring they are alright, the weight of padding is distributed more all over the glove so the knuckles are not too padded, which is not bad, but FYI.

Love it. The only thing is - I am ...
Asked a few different coaches and made decision to buy this one. Love it. The only thing is - I am not so sure if 12oz is right for me. Coach said they would work fine with me but I personally find myself more comfortable to train with heavier gloves. But I decided to keep them and start training with the 12oz gloves I bought anyway as coach himself has 12oz training gloves too (he's like 170lbs)My data FYR - 5'4" female.

Solid construction and Definitely Authentic
Initial Review after First Day of Use:When people say these fit small, listen to them. They're a little on the tight side the first time you use them; when you're putting them on you'll want to make sure that your fingers get ALL THE WAY to the end of the glove. That might sound obvious but it is something I haven't had to be conscious of in the past. With the way these gloves are shaped (I assume with a focus on both striking and clenching) they feel a lot more open in the fingers than gloves I've had before and if you don't push your fingers all the way down to the end of the glove you end up striking and hitting with your fingers before your knuckles. Once you do get your fingers all the way in, you'll strike with your knuckles much easier, it is just something to be aware of.In the past I've always worked with 16oz gloves, this time I decided to go with a set of 14oz gloves to give me a smaller glove profile so that in sparring I can land some of my flashier shots that just don't work in big bulky gloves. They're definitely smaller, and I really like that. The construction seems solid, the leather is definitely genuine. The padding is hard. There's little support in the wrists so be ready to wrap your wrists extra to compensate for that.Knuckle Pads will fit inside the glove if you have smaller hands but you'll want to spend the time to break in the gloves before using them or your hands will really hurt.I will update after a while of use and let you know how they're holding up.

Best gloves I have ever purchased
I have been using these gloves for my boxing sessions and they are easily the best purchase i have ever made. The material is tight, compact and sturdy. The gloves are 16oz but since they are so compact they feel like they are really 14oz. As a tall man with big hands i must also add that the gloves fit comfortably. Since these are really muay thai gloves the freedom in the finger section makes it easier for me to control the intensity of my punches as well as parry shots and manoeuvre my training/sparring partner.I would say that these gloves took me at least 3 months to break into with regular loose. So far (8 months in) the shape has held up extremely well and there is not a tear in site.

Good but not great.
QUALITY: These appear to be well made and well finished with nice neat stitching and crisp graphics. The velcro is particularly good and really strong. It takes a real strong pull to undo it. I've only just bought them so time will tell as to how long they last.FIT: I have these in 10oz (which actually weigh 12.5 oz) and 16oz. The 10oz are very tight even on my small hands. I am 5'7 and of fairly slight build. They are tight from palm to back of hand. There is a bit of space width-wise but not much. If you are over 5'7 or have those brick layer/farmer type hands these will be way too small for you. They are a good fit for me though, maybe a little tight from new but should be fine after they have broken in.The 160z are again tight from palm to back but are about average width inside for a 16oz glove. I feel like Fairtex have been a bit lazy in this regard - rather than adding more padding to the knuckle area to add more protection for puncher and punchee (the whole point of a heavier glove) and keeping the glove compact by distributing the rest of the padding evenly around the glove they have just made the whole thing wider and slightly longer. Detracting from the whole compact, tight fitting glove concept.I was looking for a 16oz glove that didn't feel like it was flopping around on my small hand, these gloves are tight in the wrong direction, I have never had an issue with gloves being baggy from palm to back, but many are too wide. I was hoping these would fit the bill. They are a definite improvement on my old 16oz gloves, but not the solution I was hoping for.I love the absence of the grip hose. It makes it easy to make a proper fist inside the glove. The whole glove has a more closed hand fit than others. Something I like a lot.PADDING: The padding seems to be well distributed as the gloves feel well balanced. Unlike my old gloves which felt rather front heavy. The padding on the knuckles is fairly thin but is effective due to the multilayer padding. The outer layer is soft and compresses pretty easily but then there is a very dense layer under that one, but even on the 160z gloves these seem to be more of a punchers glove. You get nice pop and feedback when hitting bags and pads.SIZE. Both gloves are noticeably shorter than most others. The difference shown in my photos looks tiny, but you really feel it when you wear them. The 16oz, are much wider than the 10oz. The tens feel really compact and agile.I have knocked one star off for the 10oz gloves being way off weight and for the 16s being much too roomy for a "tight fit glove".I give these gloves 7/10.

Hand made, great fit, high quality
The gloves are everything you would expect from fairtex. Hand made and great quality. They are a perfect fit for me, as are narrower that some 10oz gloves and are a snug fit with wraps on. People who like more slim line gloves will get on well with these. They didn't take too long to break in and are premerilly used for bag and pad workI own a few fairs of fairtex gloves and these like the others are perfect for me.I also ordered the 14oz gloves that I mainly use for sparring. They are well padded around the knuckles and back of the glove without being too padded like some other gloves. Great for sparringThe seller KimMinHui) is the only seller I use for fairtex equipment, always delivers all of my purchases quickly with great customer service. With my last order I even received a free t shirt. Flawless service, 5 stars

Seller NOT reliable.
Got these at a cheaper price. All in all they're good gloves. Unfortunately I received a damaged one, which means the seller do not double check upon sending these out to customers. Not Fairtex's fault. Need to return these unfortunately there are no stock left for the same size and colour within the same price. Utterly disappointed. Seller NOT reliable.

Gloves run small
These Fairtex gloves run very small. My gloves claimed to be 12oz, but they seemed much smaller than this- almost like 8oz competition gloves. See the picture for them next to another 12 oz glove I own. If you buy make sure you order one size up from what you normally would. Gloves are very good quality besides size problem.

These fit my hand better, and since buying them the pain has completely
Previously used Twins, but started getting a sharp pain when pulling them on. I think the shape of the glove was dragging a tendon over a knuckle. These fit my hand better, and since buying them the pain has completely gone
