CarharttMen's Loose Fit Firm Duck Insulated Traditional Coat

////UPDATE: I've had the coat for two winters now, going in to my third, and I LOVE IT! No static charge like many quilted liners build up, the duck is holding up amazingly, all the stitching is still very solid. I wore this thing through Hurricane Irene digging a ditch to drain a field that was flooding, and after four hours of work in the rain the liner was still dry, even at the elbows. Very warm, too!\\\\I followed the advice of some of the other reviewers and ordered a size up, which gave me a jacket that was considerably bulkier than I expected. I wear a 45T in a dress jacket, and am not a small man, but the extra large is broader across the chest than I strictly require. I'm okay with it, because it will allow me to layer heavily under the coat and not feel restricted when I zip the coat up, but the sizes on these jackets appear to run true to measure. The coat does tend to ride up when sitting down, but this is easily alleviated by grasping the wrists of the coat and using your elbows as fulcrums to bring the back of the jacket down before leaning back.The cotton duck is very heavy duty, and I am confident that it will be able to handle all the rough country I choose to throw at it. The quilted lining is thick and very warm. I don't know yet if it will build a static charge like many of these coats do. I love the pockets, as well. The inside left breast pocket is a single hook and loop fastener at the center of the pocket, while the inside right breast pocket is a zipper. Both inside pockets are large, measuring larger than 5" x 6". The outside pockets are the same size, with double hook and loop fastener, and the outside slash pockets are incredibly deep, although not especially warm since they aren't lined on the inside.The shrouded cuffs are a blessing, not so tight that they feel constricting but tight enough to keep the wind out and allow the jacket sleeves to be pushed up for especially dirty or wet work with the hands.Overall, I am incredibly pleased with the material, the fit, the quality of worksmanship and the appearance of the jacket, and I will be purchasing Carhartt in the future, although I don't anticipate it being any time soon.

I ordered this for my husband for Christmas and it arrived as ordered, but two days late. Upon opening the coat and trying it on, he realized that it was a bit too large. I returned the coat and an exchange was sent to me the very next day. It fits perfectly! It is a bit stiff when new, but I suspect that this is typical of this brand. It came well-packaged and was delivered very quickly. I am so pleased with this order, and my husband said the coat is very warm! We had temperatures of 2 degrees when he wore it and he said he was not cold in the coat at all. Great purchase, great price, delivered well. Just be mindful when ordering that perhaps it runs a bit large.

I’m so tired of being cold that I bought this jacket for myself! lol It’s very warm! It’s a little stiff and needs to be washed a few times to be less stiff, but it’s very well made and will keep you really warm.

Like many reviewers have said, these run big. I am 5’10” 215 lb and I normally wear a 2x so I bought the 1x and it is still kinda big. That fine though because it leaves room for a hoodie. I believe I could actually wear the large.Very warm and sturdy, very stiff even after washing.The zipper is a bit challenging but I like being able to unzip from the bottom when driving.

I wanted to write a review for this jacket because I wasn't sure what size to order when looking at the size chart. I weigh 310 pounds and am 6 foot 1 inch tall. I ended up ordering the 3XL tall size since that's what I wear in t-shirts and other clothes. This jacket is really big in the shoulders, but fits properly across my stomach and will zip up easily with no problem. Carhartt wear is really good quality. I was sort of disappointed that the jacket didn't come in their brown color -- it's sort of like a soil color or dirt color that's a medium-dark brown. That's the color I used to wear in their jackets. I've been using Carhartt for outdoor and work clothes since I discovered their brand at their downtown store in Seattle. I really like their work pants and jackets and this won't disappoint you. A lot of big and tall clothes you might be able to find locally are usually flimsy when it comes to outdoor wear and won't last or isn't warm enough with just cheap fabric and filling. This jacket is great quality and you should consider one if your looking for a plus size winter coat. The jacket has a small pocket on the left interior that zips open and shut and a pocket on the right side that's about cell phone sized. The zipper is good quality and the jacket has a interior cord that can shrink the waist area to keep wind out or cold air. This has stoppers on both ends which are the pinch to release ones. Exterior pockets on the front chest are velcro and are the same size to hold a small notepad or phone or tools. Collar is nice. I ordered the dark navy color and it looks almost black like the color of a p-coat. Am really looking forward to trying this coat out in the mountains. This is the heaviest lining I think that Carhartt offers other than their specialty wear for the north and south pole. I suggest if you're a plus size you consider this coat I'm really happy with it. I've owned lots of Carhartt gear over the years and will stay with them for clothing as long as they keep making it for us. Thanks for reading.

I love the quality of almost all Carhartt products, this jacket is exactly what i expected and I'm definitely pleased with my purchase,now, i will say i noticed that underneath the back of the collar are three button snaps which are a clear indication to me that this jacket is designed for a detachable hoodie, and for $141.85 total cost (that's what I paid total after tax and all), I believe that small extra piece should have came with the jacket, that's just my opinion though, for $141.85 they could have just thrown in the detachable hoodie, other than that, great jacket,great quality, if you take care of it, it'll last you years and years to come.Thank you for taking the time to read my review, Happy Shopping.

Bought this jacket to replace my hubby's other carhartt that had worn out. He usually wears a 2xl, but this one was huge on him, so had to return for the XL. Much better fit.

Es súper caliente y súper resistente, sin líos yo creo te puede dar 10 años de uso.Solo es importante que consideres que es un corte muy holgado que queda mejor en cuerpos anchos. En tallas mexicanas soy XL o XXL, con Carhartt soy talla L y me queda perfecto.Aunque la tela es muy pesada y rígida, te permite un montón de movilidad.Y finalmente en cuanto al look, pues es workwear que se siente ochentero/noventero. O es muy "Sweet home Alabama" o muy "East Coast", no hay más.Quizá lo único que no me encanta es el cierre (es doble?), pero te acostumbras.

Super warme Jacke, schnelle Lieferung aus Kanada bin begeistert. Allerdings fällt die Jacke fast 2 Größen größer aus. Habe die M gekauft könnte als XL durchgehen passt mir trotzdem gut so kann ich auch mal nen dickeren Pulli drunter ziehen. Bin 1.80 90kg Mittlere Statur.

I am 198 cm tall weigh 125kg so I am a big man. Therefore I bought first a Tall in size XXL thinking that should be adequate. When I got it was humongous so I sent it back and got an L instead and it fits perfectly. So buy at least one size smaller than you usually do.
