Soulo Mute SM5525 Trumpet Bucket Mute

Great mute, no resistance and very easy to fit. Not quite the same sound as the traditionally favoured Humes & Berg bucket, so more suited to solo work rather than sectional. However, you get a tremendously satisfying sound that mics up beautifully. Just as a pointer, I work as a full time pro jazz musician and firmly believe that the old favourites are favourites for a reason. This mute is worth buying. I play on a Taylor trumpet with a very large 133mm bell which is right on the stated limit for this bucket and it fits fine. No negatives as yet.

Vor dem Kauf unseres Soulo Mute konnten wir uns die benutzten Materialien nicht vorstellen.Der schwarze Korpus besteht aus Kunststoff und hat 5 Nuten (eine davon ist auf dem Bild sichtbar). Drinnen ist schwarzer Schaumstoff, 4mm dick, innen verstärkt mit Gewebe.Die drei Messing-Klammern sind geschützt, wahrscheinlich mit schwarzem Schrumpfschlauch.Mitgelieferte Anleitung auf deutsch übersetzt: Oben die zwei kleinen Klammern anfügen, dann unten die einstellbare große Klammer.Haupt-Grund für den Kauf war der niedrige Gegendruck gegenüber andere Dämpfer.(Etwas billiger aber evtl. vergleichbar wäre der Emo Ansteckdämpfer gewesen)

This is an great mute for playing in Church setting.

This adds a nice tome for trumpet playing - it mellows the tone to sound like a fluglehorn.The metal clasps attach the bucket mute easily to the bell; I added electrical tape to the clasps to avoid any scratches on the bell edge. It is higher priced than a cup mute or Harmon mute but good quality comes at a price that is justified.

We recently removed all the carpet in our home and put in tile. Acoustically, that's pretty rough on a trumpeter's ears especially when there's not much on the walls for sound dampening. So I had been been investigating some ways to set up a practice area in the home. I saw Herb Alpert in concert recently and saw this mute for the first time as he was using it it. So I did some investigating and liked what I read & ordered one. Suffice it to say, it has solved alot of acoustic problems for practicing and I'm eager to find out how it records.
