109 Yards/Roll White Braided Lift Shade Cord for Aluminum Blind Shade, Gardening Plant and Crafts (1.4 mm)

We have so many mini blinds that are in great shape except for the cords used to raise and lower. Some cords seem to be more of a cotton blend of some sort that have frayed over time and others are just worn and dirty after all the years of use. This cord has worked incredibly well and functions just like new. Replacing the cords goes fairly quick. I removed the blinds from their brackets and put small clamps to hold them high enough up on a latter to give me the right working height. I made a very small knot tying the end of the new cord to the end of the old one at the end of the plastic pull. I just slowly pull the new cord through the locking device and through the channel then out the other end and through the holes in the blinds tying it off at the bottom. Then I just cut and reuse the plastic pull when I have it to a normal length. Done! The nice strong clean cords make such a huge improvement then the yellowed dirty ones and the blinds work just like new or in some cases better than the old cheaper cords. Would highly recommend this cord replacement. The only other thing I did was to use a lighter to keep the ends from unraveling. I will definitely be purchasing more of this as I have a bunch of blinds that need new cords in my shop.

I restrung my Custom Roman shade . The shade now pulls up and down So Easily with this new string .! I had 6 strings to replace and this was plenty . I picked the right width so the 6 string could be threaded into the pull thing . Perfect ! Definitely would recommend, it is thin but sturdy !!!

My "Bali" honeycomb blinds use a 1mm cord. And this is fine on the smaller/lighter ones, but some of the blinds are 4 feet wide and 6 feet long. That's a lot of weight to pull up and down after 20 years and the cords end up breaking at the stress corners. So I thought I would try this 1.4mm cord to handle weight better. Success! It worked great and worked fine in the locking mechanism, no problem. Getting it through the various holes and pathways can be a bit challenging because of the larger size, but it just takes some patience. Doesn't take a professional.

It was just slightly smaller in diameter to the original lift cording. I was pleasantly surprised to find my blinds work even better than when new. Stringing up the one that broke was a bit of a challenge. But restringing all the others was simple. All I needed to do was pull out and cut off the knot under the bottom piece, heat up the freshly cut end with a lighter and stuck the melted end to the end of the new cord, then simply pulled the new through and cut off the old cord. Then retied the bottom knots and adjusted the length as needed.

Used this on the RV blinds and it’s a little smaller in diameter so the top half lays flat and the bottom half is an accordion shape. Works great, but would get the bigger size next time. Also since it’s brighter in color I would recommend changing both sides so they match.

When we bought our how the blinds had been pulled up and the lines were cut for some reason. Restringing took a YouTube video and 20 minutes. This string was perfect size and strong. It welded perfectly to the old short string after we got the hang of it.

I would send this back but not worth the trouble. much thinner then what I needed. Had to reorder from elsewhere. I used a micrometer to determine thickness but this is not what I need.

Purchased this to replace worn cords in two venetian blinds (1" metal horizontals). The blind would droop on one side when locked in place. The original cord was 1.6 mm.The new 1.4 mm cord works fine, it was a quick fix, about 10 minutes per cord. Lots of how to videos online. I used a few stitches to tie the old cord to the new cord to pull thru the blind.The venetian works like new! Very pleased.

I use this to make Roman Blinds, it is strong doesn’t stretch and quite frankly lasts forever, less than 10p per metre that is cheaper than I have found it in the shops.
