Zero stars from me.I should have looked at the reviews more closely, and done my research before buying this air cooler Most of the 4 and 5 star reviews appear to be for the tower fan, and not for the Air Cooler 6L, so beware!In my opinion, the Air Cooler 6L is an expensive waste of money in the UK.The unit is well constructed and easy to use, but it is doomed to fail almost all of the time in the UK: it will either be too cold, or too humid, or both for this type of cooler to make any tangible difference to the temperature in a room.After more than an hour in quite a small room, using cold water and two ice packs, the Air Cooler 6L hadn't managed to reduce the temperature by even 1 degree. Some research about this type of evaporation air cooler explained why.Apparently, this type of cooler is only really effective in climates that are hot (over 23C) and dry (less than 50% relative humidity). Although it has been quite hot this week (up to 31C here), the relative humidity has been well over 50%, meaning that if you are very, very lucky, this unit would drop the temperature by 2 degrees C at best.A side effect of reducing the temperature using this type of air cooler is that the relative humidity is increased by 2% or more per 1 degree C temperature drop. When the relative humidity increases, our ability to sweat and feel cooler is reduced, so in fact, this unit made the room feel warmer even though the temperature hadn't actually changed.The product description is quite deceptive in my opinion, as it doesn't make any of the above clear.As a fan (without the air cooler function) the Air Cooler 6L is useless. It has a tiny exit aperture compared to a decent tower fan, the oscillation angle is small, and the airflow is so poor that you have to be standing quite close to feel it.My advice would be to either buy a proper, portable air-con unit and pay anything up to £20 per day to run it, or get a good quality tower fan which will at least produce an obvious cool breeze.

The device quite literally failed to get the fan moving when it was turned on.Tried bashing the side, turning it off and on again and it simply did nothing, no airflow at allOnly the water pump worked and even that was a bad design0/10 marks for this, while my igenix is rated at a slightly louder decibel, at least it works!!!

A small broken piece of plastic was found in the water bucket, but it wasn't obvious where this came from. The louvre shutters didn't work. It only blew out room temperature air even when used with the ice packs and set to cool. It leaked water all over my lounge carpet.

We used this once for a short period and then it stopped working. Very disappointed after spending more to get this one then others we had seen.

I am in dispute with amazon because of this item. Their supposedly good customer service obviously does not extend to their foreign call centres in the Phillipines. Apparently you have to have packaging and boxes readily to hand or they refuse to collect their defective items.

What's to like - totally stopped working after 2/3 days - no real help from instructions. Perhaps unsuitable for an octogenarian. Would like to return it for a refund, please.

Followed all the instructions. No way does this cool a small room (10' x 9'). Am really disappointed. Looks good..remote is efficient just doesn't do what it's supposed to.
