We've tried every pair of clippers on the market for giant breed dogs over the years. While none are perfect these are the best we've tried. As long as they are sharp they cut my female's nails easily. My male has really thick nails, some as thick as my pinkies. When the clippers start to dull they sometime split his nails so we just started buying the multi-pack so we always have a sharp pair on stand by. These are the only ones we use at this point especially since my dogs are entering elderly territory for Danes, we don't want to traumatize them with other clippers which may not cut all the way through the nails.

I bought the large size, they are more than adequate to clip all of my German Shepherd's nails! Easy to hang on to and cut the nails in small slivers (sharp clippers) which is how I shape their nails. I did not have to apply tons of pressure to get them to cut like the last set of clippers I bought (those went in the trash!) Definitely would buy these again.

These work great. Good grip. Zero problems cutting nails. Use on a 50-pound Boxer/Hound mix. Economical.

Standard LARGE DOG nail clippers. Fits okay in hands, sharp cutting edge, good spring action. Guard is annoying, but can be removed. Read carefully, the 2 pack contains 2 large dog nail clippers.
