Chinese Kites Stained Glass Coloring Book (Dover Design Stained Glass Coloring Book) Paperback – June 26, 2008

My daughters did a unit on China for school and they instantly loved these coloring books that we bought for our spring break trip. They are very good quality. My daughters like to use coloring pencils on them because they look more like stained glass.

these drawings are on a slick translucent paper -- not all pencils/pens friendly

I love this coloring book for many reasons. One of the main things I like is that the pages are perforated and easy to remove, so the pages under are not damaged. The paper and cover is high quality. I have been using Crayola Markers and it gives the page a "watercolor" look. I will try color pencils and crayons next to see how they come out.Several months ago, I signed up with Dover Publications who has "extreme adult" coloring, color by number, and dot-to-dot books. While working in Adult Programming in our Public Library, I read about how adult coloring was all the rage in the UK. So for our Adult Summer Reading Program 2015, I decided to implement Storytime and Coloring for Adults - Why should the little kiddies have all of the fun? As we were on a very tight budget, Dover Publications offers free downloads of their publications a couple of times per month. I was able to get coloring pages, dot-to-dot, and color-by-numbers for free while still advertising for Dover Publications. It was a big hit, and now almost everyone who works at the library are coloring, and we have the assisted living and senior centers coming on a regular basis for coloring while being read to...it is fun for all, and has an amazing calming affect on all participants.
