Love It!
I purchased this Sukiyaki pan to add to my arsenal for Japanese cooking. I'm still learning the basics, but I found this to be an excellent. I used it for a beef sukiyaki and it performed very well. I've since used it for several meals that typically call for a cast-iron pan - cooking a ribeye steak, roasting kobucha squash, roasting B-size potatoes, It performs the role of a cast-iron pot very well.My only complaint is that the clear enamel coating prevents the pot from developing its own seasoning, but I know a lot of people want pre-seasoned cast iron that can be exposed to soap which is what a clear enamel coating is good for. I''ll update my review as I learn more about japanese cooking techniques and expand my cooking tool collection. So far, this pot is an excellent performer, especially for the price.

1-Year Update - Fake or Cheap Cast Iron
At first, I thought this was a nice, heavy, well-crafted cast iron sukiyaki pan. We used it quite a lot and loved it.Fast forward one year and we discovered that black dust was coming off into our shabu shabu broth. I've scrubbed the bottom of the pan with a tool used to clean cast iron, and the black coating has come off to reveal a gray pan. What this means is that the pan is not actually cast iron, or it's a very poor quality of cast iron (the gray metal is pitted as well). Either way, it seems like the black "seasoning" is actually some sort of coating.Tried to return, but they didn't provide a return shipping label with postage paid, so the return shipping would cost more than the item itself. I simply threw the pan away.

Multi functional cast iron cooking vessel
Bought this for hot pot on a induction cooktop. It works wonderful for that. It heats up quick and is the perfect size to feed 2-4 people, maybe more depending on how big your table is.Boyfriend and I decided to take a valentines camping trip in Western wa. I used it over a fire and it worked better than expected. It heated up in about 5-8 min and the handles served well to lift it from the fire when I was done cooking. It was much lighter than my skillet and Dutch oven. I sautéed up some sweet potato and since we took care up it up to that point all we needed to do was wipe it out.I reccomend this to anyone wanting it for fireside cooking or for some Hotpot at home.

Great Sukiyaki Pan at a Great Price!
For $30 (what I paid on Amazon) this is one damn fine cast iron sukiyaki nabe (pan). At this price, I'm not certain that it's made in Japan as similar pans found in stores in Japan (I travel to Tokyo frequently) are often double or triple the price. Plus, there are no Kanji manufacturing marks anywhere on the pan. But don't let this deter you from purchasing. Will make excellent sukiyaki but be sure to season the pan so it becomes non-stick.You can do this by coating the entire plan in cooking oil and putting in a hot 450 degree oven for 30 minutes, You may have to do this multiple times. And remember, never use soap to clean the pan. I use a generous amount of kosher salt, a few drops of water, and a wire brush to clean. By doing these steps you'll get a perfect non-stick pan where the beef will not stick to the surface of the pan.Actual inside pan dimensions are 10 inches wide, and a little over 2 1/2 inches deep. Large enough to serve sukiyaki for 4 people, I would guess. As other reviewers have stated there are 4 footed "nubs" on the bottom of the pan but I don't think that it will effect cooking on an induction burner. Also, difficult to tell from the pictures on Amazon but the pan has two handles.A definite recommended buy if you're interested in a good sized sukiyaki pan at a great price!
