We bought this wood for our firepit with visions of the family relaxing around it in the evening, kids toasting marshmallows etc. However, it creates such a lot of smoke, we felt sorry for the neighbours and ended up putting it out with water! Great logs but definitely not for firepits (or toasting marshmallows!)

Background: I am South African, living in London. This means I love a bbq every weekend, rain or shine. I consider charcoal cheating. A bbq is about the fire, the cooking is incidental.Delivery of this product is always prompt. Amazon normally gives me a delivery date of four days, but I pretty much get a dispatched notification on the day of ordering. I never have to wait more than two days for delivery. This company uses DPD, which is kind of a turn off, but with this product specifically, it has not been an issue.Ideally I would prefer the Oak, but the logs are too big, so I go for the Birch instead. This means I have actual flames for longer. Once the the flames disappear, I start to cook. After cooking, I add a log or two to get the flames going again.I have ordered from elsewhere for cheaper, but I find these to be the most reliable.

The bottom line is that you can get wood sourced locally for cheaper. In fact for the equivalent 1200L I can get wood around £100 cheaper when on discount locally, but the reason I chose this company is that I have always had it come on time and I had some Amazon vouchers to use.As expected it came on time within 48 hours and the driver left in by the side alleyway meaning I only had a short distance to transport the wood.For 1200L, you will fill a cubic metre storage area twice with some wood left over, so it's quite the quantity. I chose birchwood as it burns quickly and brightly and is perfect for those looking to use wood 2-3 hours at a time. For all day burning you may look for oak wood which will burn longer, albeit with slightly less heat intensity.A great solution if you're looking for a dependable supply.

Logs were delivered very prompt. Logs burn for a long time so very cosy efficient
