A grreat method to organize and gain the points for the MPT.
Oh boy! What a godsend for a disorganized brain. Prof. Cambell's matrix system is a wonderful way to organize the mpt task and utilize your time wisely. If you put in the pratice , you will master how to use 45 minutes to read, organize your grid or matrix and then the other 45 to write and finish the task. It is a good method for a person who tends to become overwhelmed, discouraged and not able to organize the material on this section of the bar exam. It really boosted my confidence level. If you are disciplined and study well solo, this method of organization might help you too.

Importance of Powerful Headings!
I cannot recommend Dr. Gallagher enough! She helped me immensely with my essays and MPT. Her method really improved my written portion of the exam. She enabled me to write very concisely, structured and use a systematic approach. Specifically, she stresses the importance of POWERFUL headings for the MEE and MPT. This enabled me to make stronger and more concise arguments applying the law to the facts of each essay. If you don't have Dr. Gallagher's MPT book, I highly recommend it! Thank you so much Dr. G!

The book is excellent!!!!!Don't take her class.
I took her class in New York during the summer of 2018 and it was not worth the money. She is past her prime and should retire. This book which was most likely written in her prime is excellent. It provides you step by step information regarding how to write a MPT as well as models the various MPT formats. The book also contains a matrix program that if you master it you will complete the MPT in the designated time period. You should purchase this book.

Cannot compare it other books, but helped me pass the NY bar
I really like the grid sheet method this book teaches. I am sure that I'll use that same method for real life law practice as well. This book tells you exactly how much time you should spend on reading each section in the MPT booklet, organizing the materials, and writing. I did not do as many MPT practices as Mary recommends in this book. But doing a few practice questions while strictly adhering to the method taught in this book gave me a tremendous confidence. I felt ready. I saw MPT as extra bonus section for me to pass the NY bar. Results? I passed the July 2013 NY bar. Get this book, summarize the key points, and strictly follow them when practicing. You will do well.

Best approach for PTs
I am not sure how people leave a negative review for this book. This book has THE perfect and the most effective approach for PTs. (MATRIX APPROACH IS INGENIOUS Thank you Ms. Gallagher for all your hard work. She literally spoon feeds the whole process. If you read this book and still can't figure it out then nothing else will help. Thanks again!!!!

She, herself is still unsure about this.
I was a repeat bar exam taker when I purchased this book. I was frustrated with my MPT score and this book promised so much. I was optimistic and sat down (Highlighter in hand) ready to learn how to supposedly get a perfect score on my MPT. I even signed up for her bootcamp along with the book. When I got to the bootcamp, she kept making comments that felt like she had no confidence over her own matrix and was reassuring herself. She kept trying to prove herself which was a bad sign. I went through the matrix, and everytime we asked questions she was give non-informative answers. On the actual MPT, the matrix does not work, you don't have enough time to gather all your research, organize it, and work through your nerves enough to actually finish it like she tries to teach you to do. If you use the book, great, but give yourself ample time to get comfortable with this strategy and usethe strategy on many MPT's. I hope you are more successful on this test than I was. Good Luck

It's the perfect tool for the job!
In many instances the top bar prep companies take a dismissive approach to the MPT part of the bar exam, when it is included. My question is that if it's on the bar and every point counts, why wouldn't you want to know the nuts and bolts of how it works and how to maximize your performance on it? The MPT is not a "throw-a-way" segment of the bar. In Texas, the MPT counts for 10% of your total available points. This book WILL help you grab the greatest number of points out of that 10% possible. From explaining what the bar graders are looking for to showing you how to give it to them, this book is the swiss army knife of the MPT!

Decent, but not great
I purchased this book. I didn't do great on the MPT. I passed the bar in spite of a weak performance on the MPT (my MBE was 149.3 and my overall UBE was 278). This book helps a little and is better than nothing since there's so few MPT prep materials which is ironic, considering how tricky the MPT is. However, it's not a panacea that will help you get a perfect MPT. The grid method would work if you had unlimited time to complete the MPT. It doesn't work if you're nervous and panicking. Still, there are a few helpful points, such as powerful topic sentences and using the cases to interpret the law, not vice versa. In addition, I also took the class taught by Dr. Gallagher. She has a boot camp, tough love approach. Her class made a marginal difference. If you have the money then I'd suggest that you take the class, but the class by itself won't be enough to help you pass.
