It fits, but gives off squeaky steps.
I was rather surprised that the back strap has these things I would call metallic latches that have to go through a loop to secure it. I am confident it will stay in place as it shows no signs of letting loose. As I was typing this, they are almost easy to remove. The latches can come undone only when you deliberately want to open the back strap, and pushing from the heel(pivoting at an angle below the heel just before the push) makes it seem effortless to remove which is a good. Putting these on before latching the back strap is neither easy or hard.I like the look of it, doesn't feel constricted, slightly comfy on the toes to my surprise and with adequate wiggle room, but the red flag for these pair of boots are that as I am walking on ceramic tiles, they make that squeaky sound. I assume these are okay to walk on soft or rugged flooring but for hard flooring like tiles, you couldn't even get away with needing to go to the bathroom late at night in the winter(not intended purpose) without disturbing your roommates let alone do recon missions as a ninja which these boots are considered to be ninja shoes. Defeats the purpose of being stealthy, but I digress. I'm afraid the noise it gives off when walking on hard floors would annoy others rather than an innocent disturbance. If tradition excludes innovation, then the extent of these tabi boots are only good for attending ceremonies with little to no movement. Good luck wearing these to an anime convention without annoying those around you as hard floors are common. The purpose of why I bought these shoes was to pair it with my kimono I was planning to wear to a dinner party, but I never got the chance to show off because these arrived too late.

first "shoes" in a decade
i have had much trouble finding shoes that fit, i stopped wearing shoes back in 2006,and have only worn sandals since,i have a high instep, and wide curved feet (allegedly between 3-4w) (my foot measurement in cm is 27 x 12)a couple years ago i was inquirring on forums about my need for better winter foot gearand someone suggested i look at these jikatabi...wish i would have got these back theni asked above if these would fit a 12cm width, seller says thier 10.7cm,im glad i had already made the purchase, cause i may have not done itthey are a bit snug, bare foot with the insole, but i removed the insoledonned my thick accrylic winter socks and the shoes fit just fineeven with NOT having split toe socksalso removing insole makes these have some real decent tactile sensory between foot and groundand help promote walking ball (front) first, instead of heel firstthe only thing that would make these better for me is if they were permenantly waterproof (while still having similar look/feel material)and if i could curve them inward slightly to accomodate the outter curve of my footif i remember, ill update on how they hold up to a wisconsin winterupdate; ive diy'd a few socks into split toe, they do feel better then regular socks in these, and ive been sticking to my thinner cotton "ankle socks" (they come higher though and barely peek out the top of these shoes)after the incedent bellow, ive been keeping the insoles inside, they are a bit snug, but not uncomfortabletried to wear these w/o insoles x-mas eve, bad idea, the cold cut right through the sole, cold feet was the extent of my issues though. (pack snow and a 1hr car trip no heat)id bet if one used a custom (diy) felted wool insole, the cold transfer would be eliminatedno problems shovling for 20 mins (no wind chill 30F< ) or general wear, my feet stay warmif these run the same width at 27.5 i would get the smaller size, and my only "problem" would be the snug fitwhich is probably fixable by cutting in a couple small sections of stretch denim, but im not capable of the quality id demand in such a modlastly, im not particularly in love with the tab closure, maybe a zipper for the majority then 2 tabs at the topstill the best money ive spent in years though, hope i can find a sandal hybrid for warm weather

Good for weight lifting.
I'm happy with the product. If it had a zipper instead of clamps, I would've given it a 5 star rating.

Great fit. Too much grip
The shoe fits great even for wide feet. My only problem is that the sole has TOO much grip. If you want a shoe that slides on tiled floor while practicing even just slightly, these aren’t them. This shoe grips way too much and are not designed to be used for aiado type training. Design is great but not for training use.

i love these things
i love these things.i was told about them because i hate shoes/socks and spend most of my time barefoot. well after a while your feet turn into one giant blister that way.anyway, some people online who practice martial arts said they were supper comfortable, and felt like you were wearing socks. so i thought I'd give them a shot.so far i have had no ill effects from wearing them too my delivery job.they breath a whole lot better then any shoe i have ever worn, which was an added bonus since my feet tend too sweat in shoes.it really is like walking around in sockfeet, but you still have a rather thick rubber soul/insoul that keeps rocks, and things from ripping you feet apart.surprisingly not a lot of people really even notice I'm wearing them, but the ones that do are instantly interested in what the heck I'm wearing. it usually turns into a mildly entertaining conversation :)when i wear out this pair, ill definitely be picking up another set. probably the next size down though. while these ones fit quite well, that's only after i washed them and they shrunk a bit. the soul is still a bit large though, I'd much rather have them fit like socks and be a bit tight, then a bit loose.

interesting fastening mechanism
The product was, as far as I could tell, true to the description and pictures; the pictures don't really show the closing mechanism, which is a set of wide flat metal tabs that hook into any of several strings that run vertically up behind the heel. These would probably provide an enormous amount of fine control in terms of the fit around the ankle, but we found them hard to fasten and extremely tedious.

Well made looked great they would not stay on..
These arrived quickly they looked great, well made and felt like a good fit.The clasps to do them up just simply would not stay in place, meaning they just couldn’t be used.
