Snoring is caused by the relaxation of the muscles in your throat while you sleep. The relaxed muscle may restrict the flow of air while you breath, resulting in that irritating snoring sound. In more severe cases, the muscle may collapse and completely block the airway to prevent the flow of oxygen to your lungs; this is commonly referred to sleep apnea.Sleep Silent's patented design gently holds the lower jaw in a slightly forward position to open the airway. It is the only affordable boil and bite device that can adjust the lower jaw forward in 1mm increments, just like a custom oral appliance that you can find at a sleep lab. This technology is called "mandibular repositioning" and is proven to achieve positive results by allowing more air to flow freely during sleep, effectively stopping your snoring and giving you a better night's rest.

Works and is Comfortable for me *** update-- not any more***
I tried many different anti-snoring devices over the years and never found one that worked until I tried the SnoreRX mouthpiece. It's custom, heat-molded fit and adjustable design worked fine for me and was comfortable enough. I used it for many years and have gone through several mouthpieces.I decided to give this a try as it was available on Amazon, so more convenient for me to purchase, and less expensive than the SnoreRX. It is a very similar design with only minor changes and works just as well for me. I see there are also other similar/identical products on Amazon.I tried other kinds of mouthpieces and would recommend you only purchase units like these--they should be custom-moldable to your teeth and the offset between the top and bottom pieces should be adjustable, otherwise they probably won't work for you or probably won't be comfortable or both. One advantage of the SnoreRX is they offer it in two different sizes. I can easily see the SleepSilent mouthpiece would be uncomfortable for many women or men with smaller mouths--it is, well, a mouthful... I also find the SleepSilent mouthpiece to be a bit more difficult to adjust than the SnoreRX, as the areas you press on the SleepSilent to release the locks are smaller and harder to control for fine adjustment. After doing the molding for many of these devices, I strongly recommend that when you bite down during the molding process, you bite down REALLY HARD, then hold that hard bite for the recommended amount of time. You're trying to form a very tight tolerance mold of your bite. It the mold is too shallow, it will not hold the mouthpiece firmly in place and it just won't work. It will also not be comfortable and it might mis-align your teeth over time.Unless the mouthpiece holds your teeth firmly, so your jaw moves outward when you choose an offset, the mouthpiece can't work. If your teeth slide out of the mold (if it is too shallow), the mouthpiece can do nothing. You must also be prepared to adjust the offset. NONE of my mouthpieces ever worked for me at the "factory default" setting--they all needed to be adjusted to move my lower jaw farther out, then they worked like a charm.*** Update June 2018 - - I had to take the review down to two stars. At this point, the mouthpiece isn't working reliably for me. I've pinpointed the problem to the adjuster mechanism. My previous mouthpiece, the SnoreRX, would hold it's adjustment all night for the life of the product, but the Sleep Silent guard is no longer holding it's position reliably so I end up waking my wife with my snoring (who in turn wakes me to get me to stop). The problem appears to be in the one fundamental difference between the two products: On the SnoreRX, you press on the upper jaw portion to release the locks, while on the Sleep Silent, you press on the lower jaw portion to release the locks. It appears that sleeping on my side puts enough pressure on the lower jaw piece to release the lock and allow the upper and lower parts to move from the desired setting. If you are a back-sleeper it might not be a problem, but if I sleep on my back, I snore regardless of any mouthpiece I'm using.

I am very satisfied and feel that this product is very good value
This is my honest review of the product. I am very satisfied and feel that this product is very good value! Please note that none of these devices are very comfortable to wear. But the benefits will likely out weigh the discomfort and you tend to get more used to them in time.Several years ago I had a TAP device custom fitted for me by my dentist. I believe I paid nearly $500 for the device and the fitting. I believe this device is just as effective and more comfortable to wear at night as the TAP device. The TAP device has slightly better construction. It is adjusted by a stainless steel, sliding mechanism, which is very strong! The position is held with this device by plastic notches. It remains to be seen how well it will hold up. However, I could buy many replacements for the cost of the TAP device.

Like magic.
Like magic. I use a snore tracking app. Avg. snoring per night was 5 hrs. Last night 0 min. Made teeth a tiny bit sore but totally worth it.

I like it too
I've been using a different mouth piece that didn't really help. This is very different. My wife loves this one! I like it too. It's as comfortable as it can be and really holds my jaw in place.I've had it for several months and it doesn't hold my jaw like it did when I first got it. It's loosened up some. I'm going to reheat it and see if it will mold to my teeth again. The instructions say you can do that three times. I haven't done it yet because it works well enough.I will but it again if/when this one fails.

100% stops snoring
I had previously bought this and loved it!! I did use it for over a year before it loosened a bit and needed to replace it. I have tried the breathing strips, the chin strap, the nose plug breathing apparatus. None have worked. This completely eliminates my snoring. Me and my husband thank you!!!

but so far I'm pretty sure it
I have moderate sleep apnea. After four years of struggling with my CPAP machine, I decided to give this a try. Apparently I am one of the very few people with sleep apnea whom can benefit from mandibular advancement: This seems to actually work for me. And it's a lot easier to take camping than a cpap machine. I am working with a recording pulse oximeter to actually prove to myself that this works; but so far I'm pretty sure it does

Good idea, needs some refinements
Sort of works, basic design is suitable However, the soft goods to form around the teeth shonk too much. Device works when pulled from its package, but this is not suitable for slepping at night. Heating the gaurd to allow you to bite and form it to your mouth is its weak point, the material shrinks too much resuling in not staying in the mouth over night.Contacted the manufacturer as indicated in the instructions, but so far no response.Device concept is great, allow to move lower jaw a few millimeters forward solves the breathing problem. Just need to work on the softgoods and it would be a 5.

it fits very nicely and feels like it will do fine but every ...
I very carefully followed the directions for fitting this device to my mouth, but it doesn't seem to have helped much to get the right fit. When putting it in place before going to bed each night, it fits very nicely and feels like it will do fine but every night I've had it in place, it has come out of my mouth. Additionally, while making adjustments, it is very difficult to see the markings on the sides of the device. It also seems to have a smaller breathing gap in its front which might account for it being ejected during the night.Others might have a better experience with it but it's just not helping me very much.
