My brother in law was very happy.

For someone who knew ziltch about the Seminole wars, this book is not only a great primer but may be the best that includes all three wars. The authors have a great style and readability but include enough details to make sure one understands their sources, They also show no bias explaining both the white and Indian points of view, good or bad. The only negative is the very small, virtually unreadable maps. Likely this was a publisher's decision, but it makes the geographic narrative sometimes difficult to follow.In the esoterica, while Distant Drums is a favorite movie, the reader will find it bears little resemblance to history!Highly recommended.

Dense mais pas toujours "académique" voici un bon bouquin pour creuser les différentes guerres séminoles. En fait, je n'ai pas vraiment accroché au style mais je reconnais la qualité des infos.Toutefois ceux qui voudraient simplement connaître le sujet sans le besoin de l'approfondir ont intérêt à se retourner vers le livre édité par Osprey Publishing.

Not talked about enough but the remnants are seen everywhere here in Florida. Either a fort or city or whatever. Changed the way I saw Florida.I really liked how the last few pages tied everything together. Summarizing the reading and present day Seminoles. Highly recommended.One more thing, not sure what the reviewer meants by “hate whitey” book. I never got that vibe from this. If they continued reading they’d realize both sides were at fault.Also the binding with my purchase was perfect.

I liked most about the book on Seminole wars is that it gave an abundant amounts of references. What I did not like about the book on the Seminole wars is it did not give more information about the importance of black seminoles winning the wars. In addition, it didn't give interviews of the descendants of the seminoles and black seminoles of today.
