I have tried 4 different bed sheet brands all between 400-530 thread count in a cotton fabric either egyptian of sateen etc. They are all a little different in feel. The orbelli brand that is no longer available was incredily soft from the 1st wash however it ripped after 11 months. I only paid $39.99 for the Queen set on Amazon. The Malouf brand 400 TC was the least soft and comfortable and the most expensive. JC Penny has a brand called "Royal Velvet" 400 thread count cotton which is very high quality but it's $76.51 including tax at the retail outlets. It is worth buying. I like these sheets(LUXOR TREASURES BRAND) because they are "unusual".. they cling to the bed as if it was "painted" on the mattress. They are very smooth yet seem to be of good strong fabric. I washed them the 2nd time with Downy fabric softner and they were noticeably softer. I am going to switch to white vinegar instead because I heard that Downy as well as other liquid fabric softeners are bad for you.(Carcinegens) etc. These sheets are worth buying but after a while you get tired of finding the "best ones" because if they end up ripping within a year what do you have and you cannot know how durable any one of them are in advance. If the reviews are low I select something else. JCPenny Royal Velvet is very good though at the retail outlets. If you have a great bed sheet brand and type please let me know. I appreciate it. I've had and used these sheets for 6.5 months, and haven't had any of the troubles mentioned in the negative reviews. No stitching has come loose, there's been no "pilling".They do wrinkle, but that's not an issue for me. They're soft and holding their color very well, in spite of weekly washing. I wash them in cold, and time dry them on low heat.

Heavy, brightly colored, and fit bed. Quality better than any I could buy locally and I expect them to last a long time. Worth the price would buy again.After 4 years of constant use the fitted sheet tor down the middle. Sheets still look good but the fitted sheet is definitely worn through.

I wanted a pink fitted sheet in a cotton material, and this was about the only option I could find for an XL Twin. They’re what I wanted, but why is the pocket so deep?!? If you NEED the pocket to be so deep, you’re doing something wrong with your sleep.(Try a shikibuton/floor futon)

i tried and tried to get them to fit tight just cannot try sleeping on them kept balling up i give up

We purchased these sheets, because we recently had to purchase a Sleep Number bed, with the split king (basically two twin size beds), so I could sleep in an upright position, due to glaucoma. These sheets give you individual fitted sheets, and 1 big sheet to go over the two beds, so it seems less like you are sleeping in separate beds.These sheets have a great feel to them, and they wash up nicely. My only complaint, is the fitted sheet does not stay on my side of the bed, when it is in the upright position. This is very frustrating, because I have to keep pulling it back down over the mattress. We purchased 2 sets of these, and they both do it, so I know it is the way they are made. I suppose it could be that none of them stay on when the mattress is upright, but since they are made to go on a mattress that does this, they should be made to stay on I feel.Update 9/7/2012: We purchased two sets of these sheets - the burgundy and the gold. I have no explanation as to why it is, but the burgundy sheets feel different than the gold ones, and not in a good way. Another problem is that the burgundy sheets are hair magnets. We have two very large white dogs, and in a day, these sheets are covered with hair. The gold ones are not the same. I know, because we have looked very closely for signs of hair, and I have tried a lint roller to see what I pick up, and it is nothing like the burgundy sheets. If anyone can explain it to us, we would love to know why the difference! It is so bad, I am going to be purchasing another set of the gold sheets, because my allergies get bad with all the hair that collects on these sheets. Very frustrating. Would buy a different light color, but they are WAY too expensive. Can someone also please explain to me why a different color changes the price?

Nice sheets, fit the bed well, well made, I have bought cheaper sets thatafter one washing and drying would not fit back on the bed. I thought these sheets werea good value even at the $45 price, You get what you pay for!

These sheets were fantastic until we washed them the first time. They are soft, but frayed a bit after washing. They also seem a bit narrow, which for a dorm bed is fine, but they would not be wide enough for a deep mattress. I bought several sets and returned one set after washing the first set. I am not sure they will hold up for a year of dorm life.

Update-Have had these for 2 years and the color has faded a bit (brown) and the sheets do shrink but the sheets are still holding up. The sheets are used in rotation with 4 other sets. Would not pay the current listed price though. (70)Decent quality for the price paid when purchased ($40), had to wash them a couple times to get the full softness. Pockets were deep enough for our pillow top mattress.
