The paper itself is stronger than Scott. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the cardboard core is bent or dented in several rolls. This is hard and often doesn't work on the roller.

After experiencing problems with septic backups, we needed to change to a TP that wouldn't clog anything up and dissolved rapidly. If you want something thick and soft for your bum, this isn't it. But if you want a reasonably priced tissue that lasts a while and won't clog up the pipes, this should be your first choice.

Have always liked the concept of using thin, 1000-sheet toilet paper for just about everyything except wiping itself -- for which a thicker, standard brand is the better option. I find wads of Marcal to be more thorough than other thin-roll brands as used for secondary purposes.

I bought this because Marcal used to be 100% recycled paper but the package doesn't state that so I'm actually disappointed. Also, although I like a thin toilet paper similar to scott, this one is very thin so I think I won't purchase this again.

Safe for septic systems but very thin. Noticed that the kids used more sheets to clean their bottoms. Good product for older people that are more conservative but not for houses where chrildren are present.

Marcal has, for many years, provided bathroom tissue that is 100% post-consumer recycled content, whitened without chlorine. This matters to me! Now if the packaging in bulk could be without plastic, I would be truly happy.
