Beats snap caps 6 way to Sunday!
Works perfectly with my 9mm CZ RAMI. When used with the free "Sharp Spotter" program from northosoft(dot)com and your own web cam you can get in some free trigger practice right in your own home. I set up printed targets from the web like the NRA AP-2 for the Marksman program, put my web cam on a tripod and once all the software is set up I can shoot the number of rounds I set, check my score, then shoot a spot I designate as a reset and start again. This beats using boring old snap caps any day (but if you use them the Tiptons are perfect). I have only used it indoors so far and at a maximum range of 20 feet (I have a very small house), but it always works with the program.Just for more information, the "Sharp Spotter" program is not as polished as the L.A.S.R. program you can buy here L.A.S.R. Laser Activated Shot Reporter. LASR software using webcam tracks time and shot placement for 1 to 9 shooters., but works identical, other than not saving target masks if you want to use different targets. It saves your current target and as long as you don't move anything the masks will all still be in place. It also scores your target however you set it up to score. You can download all kinds of sounds off the web and have your hits make any sound you want. Saves $120 until you decide you are really going to use this and might want to purchase the L.A.S.R. program. The "Smokeless Range" Laser Ammo Smokeless Range Judgmental and Marksmanship Shooting Simulator would work with this laser and sounds like great fun too, but way more expensive. This laser has been fired hundreds of times, maybe even 1000, and has worked flawlessly. I almost ordered spare batteries, but it came with some in it and 3 spares, so I would not have needed them. I am still on the original set. I also ordered the 380 version, but I have not opened that package so I can't comment on it yet.My only con would be that it might not be 100 perfectly centered, like a hair off the bullseye to the right, but that could also be me wiggling the shot and the software not recording the spot till it stops moving. Double action is hard to pull without a little wobble. Speaking of which, if you don't have a double action pistol you probably won't have much fun with this as you would have to rack the slide every time you want to pull the trigger. They do sell kits for the Glocks to make them re-set the trigger to the tune of around $200 , but then things start getting more expensive and you might as well buy a SIRT pistol instead http://www.amazon.com/Performer-Additional-Magazine-Shooting-Glasses/dp/B00X6L5VKY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1461262877&sr=8-1&keywords=sirt+pro.

Very useful and innexpensive practice tool.
This works very well. As others have said, if you have a hammerless firearm you have to pull the slide back far enough until you hear the sear re-engage and then it may go forward into battery on it;s own, or you may have to push it a bit. This is because since it has no extractor rim, it stays in the chamber when you draw the slide back, then the extractor has to be FORCED over the back of the cartridge to go back into battery. Not ideal as normally when your weapon strips a round out of the magazine it slides up under the extractor and is slammed into full battery. I am not too sure how good this is on the extractor, so I put a tiny dot of lube on the front facing ramp of the extractor before practicing with this device. That should minimize any tearing up of the extractor.Others have said that theirs came with the laser misaligned. Mine was aligned perfectly. However due to the pressure of the extractor pressing sideways on the rear of the shell and the fact that it is undersized compared to the normal chamber, it appears to shoot a little right. Just accept it and go forth and conquer. It is made in China so you can expect a high defect rate right out of the box. Check yours for alignment and function as soon receive it so you can return it in time per the seller's Amazon Return/Refund Policy if it is defective.

For the price this is fantastic for working on grouping (especially with the Tactical training ...
I bought this and the Tactical training target to practice with after breaking a finger on my non dominant hand, so I could shoot with minimal recoil. It fits in my XD 9MM, my M&P 9MM and my M&P Shield 9mm. I have not had any issues with it working in any of these guns. (All of my barrels - with the exception of my Shield are LE regulation length) I bought extra batteries, but after 4 mos, I still haven't had to replace them. The laser is bright enough that I have successfully shot and triggered the target at 20 yards. For the price this is fantastic for working on grouping (especially with the Tactical training target because the area you have to hit is so small) and it also helps with training people to not punch the trigger. Yes, the trigger has to be reset after each shot, but realistically, this is for slow practice and not just hammering off shots. I also downloaded a free computer software that turns my wall, my laptop and its camera into a shooting range, with virtual targets and shot capturing.

Must buy if you want to practice trigger pull and improve accuracy!
New shooter here and wanted to practice dry firing at home. This unit works perfectly in my Glock 19. Lock the slide open, insert into chamber, and unlock slide! Easy and simple. Unit comes with batteries in it, and 6 extra.Instructions are hidden between the front and back package insert. Provides instructions for use, and replacement battery size. Even comes with something to attach to your cleaning rod to push out the unit if it gets stuck (no issues at all for me, lock the slide open, point muzzle up and it falls right out).Purchased with the Cheap Shot target and got a discount! See target details. Definitely recommend both, and more reasonably priced than most out there! It’s supposed to work with other brand laser targets, but have not tried yet. Buy it now, you won’t regret it!
