Creates a good slurry.
Great stone to use on wet stones even though the description is misleading. It does not sharpen whetstones as it say's. Whetstones sharpen steel. You may flatten them, but not sharpen them. But a Nagura Stone is not a good choice to use to flatten a whetstone either. They're to soft and to expensive, as all it would do is wear it down and be a great big waste of money . A Nagura Stone is a tool to use along side whetstone's, as it creates a quick slurry to speed up the sharpening process. It does this by being a softer stone in the 1,000 grit range, depositing particles of this stone onto the harder whetstone adding another dimension of stone to not only work the steel, but release particles from the harder whetstone to sharpen and or polish the steel you're working with.
