MantusRail CLAMP Set

When installing on my rail the bottom clamp slid off and dropped into the water. That was very frustrating. I contacted the vendor and they shipped my a replacement. That was very satisfying. I now am much more careful when carrying and installing. Once installed they do a great job of holding fast. I use them to mount cameras on my rails when I am away from my boat. They are easy to remove when sailing and return when finished. I have some at the ready for other uses when I find them.

Mounted my Emergency locator beacon on cockpit rail for access to satellite and quick deployment in emergency situations.

Both are Mantus products so the quality is assured but I just wanted the metal version of their rail clamp. Instead I got the Mantus Snap-On Light which is cool just not what the Amazon listing described, illustrated or suggested. Too bad for me. My review of this light kit would be 5 star as it is a clever wireless device with plenty of utility around the boat.

I used this to attach a remote VHF mike to a 1" diameter SS post in my helm station. The clamp mechanism is a perfect fit around the post and holds with amazing strength. I also think it looks quite nice.

It works as designed. Don't need tools to clamp it on the handrail. It is being used for port and starboard spreader light for night fishing. The finishing can be better.

i understand why the manufacturer made the castings in two pieces for ease of manufacture. But hey: this is a FAST-ATTACH clamp on a BOAT RAILING. Very easy for the latch to slide off and into the water while trying to attach-detach it.I modified it to add two retaining screws (2-56) along the hinge line so they cannot slide apart.
