Pacific Foods Organic Poblano Pepper and Corn Chowder, 16.3 oz Can

Mildly spicy (not "hot") corn chowder. Not a liquid soup. It is creamy, thick and well.. a chowder. It is lovely on its own, but I prefer to add a hunk of bread to dip into it. Would also be nice poured over some rice or potatoes.Good mouth feel. Plenty of texture to feel like I am eating something. I can taste corn, poblano peppers, chili powder. I can taste cumin, which is part of chili powder. Overall has a depth of flavor and freshness I didnt expect from a canned product.Food comes down to preference. Cant take my 5 star review for it. You may love it, or may dislike it.I just like the occasional canned meal, and I prefer that it isnt a brothy liquid soup. I prefer a more full feeling, and so a creamy chunky soup is what I look for. This Chowder meets and exceeds those expectations. I also like when other foods can be added to it to further boost the volume. So if a can of this chowder is $2.71-3.19, and I want to feed 2 people, well I would need more than one can. BUT I can instead still use one can and enjoy the flavor by using it as a topper to rice, noodles, or potatoes, or with a big hunk of fresh baked bread or roll.I intended to take a pic, but I started shoveling this into my mouth and totally forgot. Maybe next can I eat I will remember to take a pic and share.

This is one of my staples for an easy, quick and flavorful dinner. It has a great texture, is GF and is so yummy. Definite comfort food for me. You can pair it with crackers or some bread or just straight-up. It's also very filling. My hubby and I love it. I also appreciate that it's organic. I use other products from Pacific Foods and have always been happy with them. Highly recommend it. Hope the case comes back soon for Prime because that's how I like to order it.

not salty at all. Do not know why somebody would have said that. A bit sweet. Not noticeable though. Definitely zippy. Slightly peppery. Flavorful, as expected, little bits of potatoes throughout & just the right amount of corn. Luckily, the heat dissipates fairly quickly. I surprisingly pretty much liked it kind of a lot.

I mean, come on. Look at the ingredients in this which couldn't make me happier. Pacific knows how to make tasty foods with no BS ingredients. This is my favorite that I've tried out of them all. I'm a huge fan of their red pepper tomato soup as well. Looking for good clean eats...look no further.

I bought one can to just try it and regret not buying more. This is really good soup. i'll will be buying again, just wish the "better" things weren't so expensive.

I ordered 2 cans of this soup. One can came with a deep dent. It was sealed in a plastic bag, so I am sure it was dented before being shipped. The other can was fine, so I ate it. The soup is great tasting and I will look for it in my local stores.

Bottom line: Best one of these I've found--this is my 3rd case...Good flavor, mild heat, tastes veggie, no grease, nice pureed corn base,consistent over time, good price, fast delivery without can damage. Good for light breakfast, takes well to adding veggies.Only about 15% solids (by volume), majority potatoes, not corn, chilies few and far between.

I very much like a good soup! Lately, I've been on a bit of a quest to find a canned soup that I can even tolerate. This is a lot more difficult than I would have expected.Poblano Pepper & Corn Chowder is a pleasantly surprising find! I cannot only tolerate it, but I enjoy it quite a bit!It has a perfectly balanced flavor profile. It has nicely balanced touches of sweetness, smokiness, and saltiness. Overall, the corn places it slightly on the sweeter end of the spectrum, but not by much. The peppers also add a nice hint of heat to the flavor as well.It has a nice hearty consistency with the potatoes adding a pleasant texture.Finally, it's nice to see a soup label that has simple, plain English ingredients. The fact that this soup is not only tasty, but also seems somewhat healthy, is a bonus. Too often, the ingredients in OTHER canned soups read more like a chemistry experiment than a recipe.I only wish I could give other offerings from Pacific Foods similarly high praise. While all are tolerable, and most light-years better than other vendors, none are as outstanding as this one. I have high hopes that Pacific Foods will offer more similarly well-balanced soups in the future.If they do, I promise to come back and write another glowing review for that product :)
