I wish I played it sooner & KILLER music
Wonder how many people in their late 40's enjoy playing PS games.....I'm one of them. I was in Japan and was 14 when I first played YS 1 & 2, then followed by YS4, which is the original of this game on NEC CD-ROM2 platform.I bought PS4 in April 2020, only to play FF7R (blew my mind.....it was more of a movie than a video game; the CG was insanely detailed). All these years I had other priorities and was away from playing video games, but as things have settled I am back in the gig.Although I haven't finished it yet, this game is extremely addictive. On my weekend, I found myself playing it until 4am, because the story & music just wouldn't let me put down the controller. This is a serious remake of YS4 and Falcom did a great job. There are aspects in this game that seem to have inspired FF7R, like taking up people's chores and receiving rewards. The movie is rather very poor quality, like PS1 polygon kind of, and the forests' sceneries are very similar from one location to another (changes once you're in a different region), making me confused and circling at the same spot. Also, not sure if it's only me but there is only one saving spot and I almost accidentally deleted it once (40+ hours of effort). One thing I find amusing is that while the Wanderer (Adol) & Duren the big guy are knocked out by a group of enemies, this 12 year-old grade school girl is beating the hell out of enemies with a hammer. I use Japanese voice but there seems no Japanese text, which is fine but sometimes the original message cannot be conveyed accurately and the English used in this game is too formal & boring, as compared to FF7R, which is more realistic.I'll update once I complete it, but at the moment (map completion is 99.5%.....where's that 0.5% !?) I am yet to judge verdict.PS: I once applied for a position at Falcom (back then it was Nihon Falcom) in Tachikawa, Japan (west of Tokyo). Had an interview directly with the CEO Kato, with long grey hair resembling a samurai. Back then, Falcom was but a very small company.

Great for both long time fans of the Ys Series and JPRGs in general!
I had purchased this a while back on the Vita (largely for the double soundtrack), but I was unable to play it since my since my Vita broke. When I saw this became available on the PS4, I knew I had to have it, especially since I prefer to play on consoles with the large screen. While this addition does not provide as many physical extras as on the Silver Anniversary Vita version, it is cheaper, and has a few nice extras. It even comes with a color instruction manual!I am huge fan of the original game on the Turbografx-16 and just finished replaying Ys Books I & II on the Turbografx Mini. I am having a blast with Memories of Celceta as XSeed and Falcom did a really nice of updating the game play while still retaining some of the classic details that make this series so unique. Only a few hours in, but loving every minute of it! I would highly recommend this to fans of the Y Series! If you have never played an Ys game, this story stands on its own and is a pretty an enjoyable role playing game as there are multiple characters to play, plenty of dungeon-crawling, and a bit of crafting for variety.

Great Port
Ys: Memories of Celceta for the PS4 is a port of the PS Vita original that came out some time ago. The game is updated too look better, but don't expect it to look like Lacrimosa of Dana, as like I said, this was previously a Vita game. The music is absolutely amazing too, making the adventure that much better. So in this game you play the role of Adol the adventurer again, but this time he has lost his memories, and you have to figure out why, all while mapping a vast forest. This is an action adventure game so you will be rapidly striking foes, while performing skills, dodges, and blocks on the fly. Also true to the Ys series formula, you will swapping between characters to do slashing, piercing, and blunt damage depending on the enemies weakness. There are elements of crafting and optional quests to complete along the way too, adding more play time to an already decently long game.I highly recommend this game, especially this edition with all of the extra goodies.
