You know if it’s got Tom Thorne in it….it won’t disappoint
As a long time fan of Mark Billingham I always automatically pre order his new novels.Admittedly there have been a few I’ve not loved as much as others but none I have loved as much as the Tom Thorne series!Smashing it again with the tension, twists and turns and that feeling that something bad is going to happen but you’re going to love it.This book did all of those things and more. The throw back links to earlier drama in the series had me devouring every chapter desperate to know what was going to happen. Hearing Hendricks Manc accent in my head and the relationship between the characters continuing to get deeper and darker. Simply beautiful.Loved it and am now bereft at my own greediness to inhale the book which has left me with a massive Thorne hangover!Thank you again Mark for another superb novel. Please keep them coming….we need more Tom in our lives!

Tom Thorne is centre stage again - a great read
Mark Billingham, who is probably Britain’s finest living crime writer, has been knocking off a book a year, sometimes starring his main protagonist Tom Thorne, but sometimes with Thorne only having a walk-on part. In this year’s book, Thorne is centre stage. Working together with his two closest colleagues (and best friends) he is up against an old nemesis. I love these books not only because they’re cleverly-plotted, full of wit, and with characters I have grown to know well. I also love them because they’re largely set in Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Hornsey, Kentish Town and Highgate. In other words, in my neighbourhood. Highly recommended.

The Murder Book by Mark Billingham
I have read ‘The Murder Book’ A Tom Thorn thriller. Thorn’s worst nightmare is coming home by Mark Billingham and I give it 5 stars plus, no problem. A very evil man from the past who got away and is seeking revenge and he gives it his all. An evil man who gets his way and knows so much about Thorne that it gets to him and almost destroys him. This murdering gangster will not give up until he has destroyed him beyond all recognition. A page turner and an excellent read as usual from this lad.

Much better
Tom Thorne is back thank goodness! After his last ghastly attempt Mr Bellingham delivers once again. Thorne has changed though his character being much ‘darker’ and stressed. This affects the relationships within the book. The action though is fast paced and we’ll structured. A really enjoyable read. Thank you.

And he’s back!
Take a bow Mr Billingham - ahead of the game with this one. I’ve been with Tom Thorne since the very beginning and 18 books later I’m still saying ‘wow…wtf’ Flawless writing, superb plot and bringing back ‘that character’ was bang on the money for me. And when you think you have worked out the twist at the end it gets twisted again! Love love love it!

Once again brilliant
Another brilliant escape with DI Thorne, a story that let you wander down the wrong path till you were hauled back onto the correct one, I got it wrong, Thorne got it wrong, Mark Billingham got it spot on again.

Fantastic read
Have just reread all of the Tom Thorne books ending with this latest one. Have got to know the characters so well that they are like family. Glad to see Dave Holland making an appearance as he disappeared from a few of the books. Can't wait for the next instalment of what is a great series of books.

Excellent - buy it and read it.
Cracking yarn - as only Mark B can weave. The end was if I`m honest, over too quick. But the journey there was brilliant. Well worth the time to read. Now! When`s the next one published?
