I, like much of the world right now, am working from home indefinitely. While I'm extremely grateful to have that ability, it's been hard in my apartment because there's no good space for working (teeny tiny studio in NYC, you know). Since it looks like we'll be working from home perhaps through the summer, I bought this, and I truly do not know why I waited so long to get something like it. Not only does it have the sliding cup holder, and is large enough to hold my work laptop, but it has little grooves for my cell phone. The photo is of the laptop holder in use. The legs are adjustable, but I kept them at their default height since my torso is shorter. Again, just buy this. It's great quality, it's adjustable, it makes working from the bed or couch much more ergonomic, and your neck, back, and wrists will thank you in the long run.

It’s very sturdy and has a cup holder that is deep enough for my tallest cups. I hit it on accident and it didn’t spill an ounce! The 3 tier levels for the laptop or tablet are convenient for either streaming or playing games or doing work, without having to strain your neck. The material is top quality and feels like special attention when into just my desk. Also, the price is amazing!!!!On a personal note: I have a couple of chronic health conditions and there are times when I am confined to my bed for months. To have a product like this helps may seem like another gadget to most, but for me it is essential. It helps me to stay connected to the outside world. And, I am very overweight so most laptop desks do not fit. But this one has stands that extend out and up!I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!! Thank you Stock Harbor!!

My wife fell in love with this lap desk from the advertisement here on Amazon. I was a bit more hesitant about how good it might be. However, since she .was the one most likely to use it, this was the one we bought. It came with one of the thumb bolts missing from one leg, which meant the table could only be used at its lowest elevation. However, Stock Harbor customer service rushed us a replacement bolt so that we could enjoy the full benefit of the desk. As it turned out, I was the first heavy user. I had flu for the first few days we had the desk and it was an ideal bed companion. The drink slide on the side, which I had thought might not be a good idea, worked perfectly and held an air-insulated glass perfectly. The lowest level was just what I needed at the time I was using it. The tilting table is quite handy and quite steady. The entire desk is ingeniously designed and crafted. The stop at the bottom of the tilt section stores underneath when one wants a flat surface. This table is well worth your very serious consideration. My wife is glad to get her table back. My daughter thinks she will have to get one soon. Highly recommended!

Finally a workable solution for my drink!I bought this desk only for the cup holder on the side. I looked nearly a year for a desk that I wouldn’t be afraid my drink would spill on while working. This one has 2 cup holders actually. One that is recessed into the top surface and the nice one that slides out of the right side. The holder is made of a heavy mesh net material that seems really well made and will collapse down and slide back in place when not needed. I’m guessing you could easily store your mouse or whatever in there as well. It works great for my nightly giant glass of iced tea when I’m working in bed! Also, I’ve got big legs so the adjustable desk legs are a must. Another nice part about this desk is that I can take the little stopper out of the top, store it underneath in its place, and use the desktop unobstructed to write or sign documents. My wife has also used the desk for her crafts and school work too. Good purchase for this house for sure!

****3days later Edit****Oh man I hate to admit it but this thing really let us down. The cup holder netting and ring broke off literally an hour after I left the first review. I was able to fix it but now the little drawer it sits on won’t shut. The legs not being individually adjustable really turned out to be a bigger deal than I thought it would be. Here’s why: the pop up top is actually pretty heavy. And when you have it raised, it makes the whole thing want to fall toward you. Being able to adjust those legs to make them longer under that side, would balance that. But instead it just falls in your lap. Spilled the drink all over the place. Another thing is: when the top is raised for propping your device, the crease between the raised part and flat part pinches and scratches the crap out of you. Finally, the little pedestal won’t stay in either designated place, the little pegs are just too short.It’s a real bummer too because my kid really loves the tray. I noticed the problems on the second day but she begged me to keep it because she loves the anchor stamp and how beautiful the whole thing is. And I do too. But I’m afraid I’m going to have to return it. I even thought I would keep it and get her something different but it does the exact same thing to me. I’ll be contacting the seller ASAP because I’ve already thrown away the box.First, I want to say that this tray is BEAUTIFUL craftsmanship. I’m so impressed with it! It’s solid! Sturdy, smooth and absolutely perfect. I ordered it for my special needs daughter who needs it for her iPad. The only issue I have is her iPad case makes it a little too bulky to prop on the pedestal, which was my reason for getting the tray. That’s the cases fault, not the tray. But it would be an improvement to make that pedestal a little bigger to hold a bulky device. Also, as you can see in the photo, I had to put a pillow under the tray to stop it from falling forward on her. Adjusting the legs didn’t help prevent this. I think if you would make each leg individually adjustable, so that I could level it against her weight and pull on it, it would fit her needs better. And, if you do indeed decide to make that improvement, I will keep this one and buy her another one. Because we really love it!! But for now I’m going to use Velcro to help hold her iPad and I’ll continue using the pillow for her lap. Thank you for such a beautiful piece. My daughter especially loves the cup holder.
