Very sturdy and great handle placement to manage its size

After thinking long and hard, I was very excited about buying a correctly fitting high quality cover for our not so insignificant invest meant in the 24” x series.First the good: it covers the the 24x series and the sheet metal is sturdy, the Handel feels nice, and is in a well weighted positionNow the bad:1. the lid is not a snug fit and has an extra half inch or so over hang, so it does not so much secure into place, so much as it is heavy and hopes for the best. Which is fine for a generic, but I find odd for a custom premium lid.2. The edges of the lid aren’t milled, so they are sharp, as swift move will have you bleeding. So portions of the Breeo it’s self are like this, but the stop stainless edge is not, so it’s weird to cap it with something that is a lower quality than the natural top.3. The texture is a unfinished brushed texture that snags cloths when it touches them. This is an odd choice, as it seems like it is going to scratch the beautiful stainless texture of Breeo’s trim ledge. Again, I’m not sure why the lid does not match the Breeo top4. Instead of the Handel being side red into place, it has two tiny stainless screws. This seems like a cheap cop out, which is surprising for a 180$ top, and a week point and place of failure for the top in general.5.the lid has cut outs that theoretically help secure it, but they aren’t clips that would secure it next to the top, just prevent a little movement and are very sharp.Overall at 30% of the price of the fire pit, one expects a led with the same fitness as the fire pit itself. Instead, for 180$ you get a piece of essentially unfinished rough and sharp 14 gauge round sheet metal with 3 bent tabs, a handle, and two 5 cent screws. All over, I feel the custom top premium priced top, fits and looks like a mid tier generic at 3x the cost. It’s like buying an apple iPhone and then you receive the apple specific case, but it doesn’t fit, it’s sharp and it held together with duck tape.For such an over designed fire pit of awesomeness, this lid was a cop out, and it makes me question my investment in the brand, when they could have easily designed a safe, fire sniffing lid for the same msrp.Does it work-sure. Will it suddenly break at some point due to heat expansion/contraction with the screws/handle, casing it to drop, roll, and cut off a toe-there is a distinct possibility.Is it better than an 65$ generic-I can’t see a single reason.

This is an expensive accessory for the Breeo fire pit but well worth the money. We preload our fire pit and cover it with this heavy lid. This way the fire pit is always ready with dry wood and fire starter. We also hope it will extend the over all life of the fire pit by keeping water out of the bottom.

Nothing fancy works well

Good cover. Nice addition to the fire pit. But it did let some water in during a rain storm…
