Absolutely love these, they stand up to the heat I put them through in a pressure cooker and an instant-pot with no problem. They haven't deformed or lost their integrity, they create a good seal on the jars and the self healing ports work perfectly. The vent holes are great and there's 2 which is even better. Absolutely love these lids.

With double vents this lid helps speed up colonization in grain spawn. If used on a LC jar it will grow to fast and not have long shelf life. Ran them twice so far in the PC with no issues.

I bought these for mushroom spawn jars. They work as they should and came out of PC with no issues. I plan to buy more now that I’ve tried them out.

I'm, probably like you, getting into growing mushrooms and I already had a huge collection of wide-mouth mason jars, so this is a great addition to breathe new life into my bottles. It cuts down on the potential for contamination and makes my jars that much more useful. If you want to get into growing mushrooms then you need something like this if you want to use mason jars and keep things sterile.8/10 I would recommend it. I hope this review is helpful.

We are just getting started in mycology and trying out several new methods of growing mycelium. My first attempt failed miserably before it really even got started due to mold issues in the substrate (coffee grounds). I thought I might use these lids to try propagating mushroom spawn in grains like rye and wheat. Eventually, I will be wanting to grow my own cultures as well, so having these reusable lids that are especially made for this purpose is really awesome. We even have some agar on order for this purpose.The lids fit perfectly onto our wide-mouth canning jars. They are also very easy and straightforward to use. With the self sealing injection port and dual breathing holes, I don’t think that even I could screw this up (Yeah, keep thinking that!). The kit comes with self-adhesive synthetic paper stickers which filter out contaminants. Once those are expended, we will probably switch over to cotton balls for this purpose.Being plastic I had some reservations about how well they would hold up to the heat of a canner, but plastics have come along way, and I guess that’s what they’re designed to do. I have seen metal versions of these but they are all DIY, and I do like having a pre-packaged solution.There has not been enough time yet to fully explore all their potential but so far I am really loving these jar lids and what they will do for our mushroom growing endeavors.
