This fits perfectly, took me less than two minutes to install. In my opinion it is a perfect option to get bathroom exhaust fan working again.

This was a direct bolt on replacement for an older Nutone fan motor that probably dates back to the late 1970s or early 1980s. I like that it's an open design so it pulls air up through the fan instead of having to pull it around, which I believe makes it much more efficient. It decreaes the humidity level in my bathroom much more quickly than the old fan, but it's definitly not quiet.It's relatively easy to install with some basic tools and mechanical knowledge. After installing this I'm seeing a 20% humidity drop after a shower in about half the time as I used to have with my old fan. As long as you're sure this fan will work with your unit I'd recommend it.

This replacement motor and fan blade worked perfectly. I would rate the work difficulty a 2 out of 10, very easy. The most difficult part is getting down and replacing the fan housing, depending upon the location of your fan. Once the fan housing is in hand, it takes only 5 minutes, or less, to remove the old motor and install the new one. All you need is an 8mm socket. Also, save the old washers to reuse. The new motor comes with new nuts only. Everything is plug and play, so no electric wiring required. It was so easy, I replaced the other bathroom fan also, since both were the same age, and because it was making rattling sounds. Once down, found the motor shaft was loose.

Great fit, quiet operation

The media could not be loaded.  This replacement motor was perfect and now our bathroom is back to not fogging up during hot showers. Install was so easy. I’m not a handy guy, but this was one of the simplest repairs I’ve done and made me earn some brownie points with my patient wife.

I have a Nutone 663FL fan, and the old motor (marked Jakel j239-050-5045) had a slightly shorter shaft than this motor (see 1st picture). But this one still fits, as long as you get the fan all the way on the shaft (2nd picture). It's extremely tight as others have said. I used a drill bit slightly smaller than the shaft and worked it around to enlarge the hole in the fan, which helped.This probably wasn't necessary, but I also enlarged the hole in the other end of the fan to let the shaft come all the way through (3rd picture). This lets the fan sit closer to the motor, like in the original.This came with plain nuts - you should use something to keep them from loosening under vibration. I reused the K-lock nuts that were on the fan. Nylon lock nuts, split washers, or blue threadlocker are also good options.Performance and noise seem similar to the original - maybe a bit louder.
