Bull (Limited Edition) [Blu-ray]

Some call it generic, I call it awesome.
This is essentially any number of revenge films from beyond but done with such vigor and energy that it is hard not to root for the main character Bull, I've spoiled nothing in my description as it becomes very clear what is going on quite early in the film, but it is immense fun in seeing how revenge can be served hot, cold or just plain nastily, I love this film and really appreciate the chance to own it with some nice extras as well as a book you also get some art cards, everything keeps in tone with the film and is very welcomed, I cannot wait to see what this crew come up with next.

Don’t mess with Bull
Bull is not the faint hearted but I found this film brilliant. Neil Maskell plays the lead role Bull who is out for revenge on those who left him for dead after setting fire to a caravan with him in it. I won’t say anymore to spoil it for those who haven’t seen it

An ok film.
Quite violent and the storyline and acting was a bit hit and miss. Worth the watch but only once.

Just Good
Great British writing, quality cast, poetically violent to the extreme. Just watch it.

A cut above the rest
I always look out for movies with Neil Maskell; they don't often disappoint. Here were have a revenge story with a difference, but ultimately that difference isn't a big deal. You can take it or leave it and it doesn't retrospectively affect the rest of the film (just as well because it's essentially revealed in the first 60 seconds). The acting is top notch across the board and Maskell's delivery, in a similar vein to Kill List, swings between smugly detached and completely unhinged. The missing star is due to the need to buy the special edition at £23. You do get a load of stuff for your money, including a booklet and movie card art, but I was just looking for the basic film, which doesn't seem to be available. Still, the fact I'm willing to spend £23 on a bluray is evidence of how highly I rate this film. The best British film for some time. Also, I advise subtitles on the first watch. The realism extends to the vocals, and they're often muttered or spoke in strong dialect.

Loved this film!
I really loved this film, it kept me hooked from beginning to end. Difficult to say much about it without spoiling it.

Yes, it's good but....
I really feel this is a poor man's Dead Man's Shoes (Shane Meadows' brilliant revenge movie) without the final denouement. It hints at the reason for all the gratuitous violence throughout the muddled narrative, but leaves us with an ending that seems riddled with a writer's conceit and ambiguous way out. Performances are a cut above the average in such Brit gangster flicks but, in the end, it is just another Brit gangster flick with promises and pretentions of being more. Yes, it's good but...
