Q: I thought you were supposed to drill a hole at the end of the crack to keep it from spreading. Why no glass drill bit?

NO, do not drill a windshield. Drilling holes at the end of a crack in solid material like plastic stops the progression of the crack because the holes disperse the forces that would have a crack continue. However, windshield glass is a different animal; it has a thin, transparent film sandwiched by glass on both sides. Your crack is in the OUTER layer of glass, so if you go drilling through, you will penetrate the film and the inner layer of glass and destroy the integrity of the windshield. The resin will stop crack movement.

Q: Why are the reviews talking about rubber duckies and flocking things? Completely unrelated to this product.

Probably because it doesn't matter being this product is 100% garbage and 100% does NOT work. If you're about to hit the order button don't bother and save your money.

Q: Can this be used on home windows?

I'm not quite sure. The suction cups should work in getting the bracket over the crack, but since home windows are upright, getting the fluid into the cracks would be the tricky part I would think.
