Great Modern Looking & Functioning Toaster
I have had this toaster for about 4 months and it's not only amazing looking but makes great toast! I bought it because it fit an area I wanted to store it in when not using. But it looks so amazing and modern in my newly remodeled kitchen, that I leave it out on the counter all the time! You won't be sorry if you buy this!!!

Perfect toast & a slim elegant design
- love the styling- functional but minimalist-love the small footprint on our counter- love the warming rack for croissants, etc.- really love that the first test slice of toast I made was perfect, set it one up from the lowest setting. Popped up nicely.- did not like having to 'cure' the coils on high before using it the first time. Stunk up the place and should be done at the factory so it is ready to use when you get it. But hey, just a one time annoyance. Be sure to vent the room. Set of the smoke alarm.- it defaults to 4 out of 6 when started and you adjust it up or down. Since setting 2 fully browned my test slice, seems like it should default to a lower setting. Again, no biggie. Easy to see lights for the setting.Overall a masterpiece. not cheap but at $60 blows away a lot of more expensive toasters. Appears to be very well made.

Versatile, Attractive, can warm croissants, toasts evenly
My old toaster, a long, sleek black one, finally just died, forcing me to find something else. My new one, the Russell Hobbs Glass Accent Long Slot 2-slice Toaster, was selected because it was the winner on America's Test Kitchen's long slot toaster (I'd never heard of it - it's British). It's shiny and attractive - a little larger than I had expected. It can handle two slices at a time, different sizes of breads, has a setting just for bagels, another one for frozen bread, it toasts evenly, and bread jumps out of toaster when ready (but back in). The different settings make it a little complicated, but it's not a lot to learn (keep the instruction manual, though, especially if you have the long side perpendicular to the wall). It also has a bun holder that sits on top of the toaster for items like croissants, muffins, etc. to warm without toasting them, which is k/o unique! I wasn't sure that it would be sturdy, but it seems to be fine after 2-3 months. One minor warning: If you warm or toast "iced" sweet bread, it will drip on the insides of the toaster, which isn't easy to clean. For most bread, though, there is a small, easily removable tray in the bottom to remove for cleaning. It costs about $50, reasonable for a fancy toaster, more than you need to pay for a regular one.

Beautiful toaster...and IT WORKS!!
It makes great toast, easy from defrost to light to dark. The long shape is unusual...and we like it. You see we do not have a lot of counter space...yet it works ... we also love the "warmer" that goes on top - good innovation from Hobbs 👍. It holds whatever thickness well; it is easy to clean. This is the 7th or eighth toaster I have bought in the last 15 years. Toasters are no longer made in America...sigh...since to increase profits of companies, most of them buy cheap cheap cheap from China. This company is headquartered in England...and obviously demands superior internal items from Asian countries.

Burns part of the toast and under toasts another part.
This toaster was recommended by Americas Test Kitchen, and it is really attractive. It burns one part of the toast and under toasts other parts. In other words, not an even toast at all! I do not recommend this toaster. I was dazzled by how attractive it is, and I took too long to admit to myself it is a lousy toaster. Now I cannot return it.

Works Great
High shine chrome finish is super good looking. Toast comes out fine. Used for sandwich bread, home made bread, English muffins, bagels and all perfectly done. Easy to adjust settings and cancel button. Warming and defrosting rack is very convenient. I thought that I would never use the rack but it works. I heat up store bought muffins all the time. Very satisfied.

Skeptical
We’ve had this toaster for a couple of days and not feeling super confident. We replaced our Breville toaster that we had for at least 5 years. The lever failed but otherwise, liked the toaster. Thought we would try a long-slot style as we are using more bakery bread versus standard loaves. This toaster definitely toasts the bread quickly, but not super even. It “feels” kind of cheap overall so not sure how long it will last.11/29: So after a few months of using this toaster, we have found some positives. Love the longer slot, warming tray and the narrow footprint. On the less positive, it doesn’t toast very evenly. The top gets browner than the bottom. Dealbreaker? No, we can live with it.
