Moondog was an inspired musician
I remember him from when I was an art student in NYC and he was always standin on the corner of 34St & 6th Avenue, wrapped in an army blanket drumming on drums or blowing on a horn. He was an iconic figure and an inspired musician. So glad to find CDs of his music on amazon!

Great cd.
The last 2 tracks won't play, because of a scratch. But I still love the cd. No complaints.

Crackly pressing
Great album, unfortunately it was a poor pressing. Traces of dried liquid were visible on surface, as well as a few small “spots” of raised vinyl. A thorough clean resolved the debris from manufacture - but not the spotting, nor the crackle when the stylus encounters them.

A DOUBLE LP FOR HOW MUCH? GIMME TWO!
This is actually TWO lps on one CD. You get Moondog's entire first CBS lp which is pictured and also his entire second CBS lp, (simply entitled, MOONDOG 2) which is very rare and hard to come by on vinyl. The music on both albums is a collection of quirky symphonic compositions that remind me of George Martin's Yellow Submarine music, or to a lesser degree, Frank Zappa's Orchestral Favorites album. This will fit right in with your Raymond Scott and wild wacky cocktail music collection.

Ditto
There frankly isn't much for me to add to the comments made by previous reviewers about Louis Harden and his music. As with anything, these pieces won't appeal to everyone, but I find them mostly very engaging, provoking and full of life, whether spirited or introspective. Hardin's personal story adds a compelling backdrop to the music, of course, but the sound can stand on its own feet, provenance notwithstanding. Worth anyone's listen.

Interesting
On first hearing I thought it dull, but after a few listenings it becomes more intriguing and spirited, although the individual tracks sound like sketches for further finished work.

Moondog rules!
What a joy to come across this man after so many years. Genius is perhaps overused now, but his talent and musical understanding, borders on that of Bach and Beethoven. Like many l suppose, I first heard him on thr CBS classic “Fill Your Head with Rock” compilation. Stomping Ground being the featured track. Seeing him live was an unforgettable experience.

This is not Moondog on CBS 1969!
I was expecting the music from Moondog’s self-titled CBS album dating back to 1969, but the music on this cd is different - and way less interesting - than the album.
