I am unfortunate enough to suffer from a variety of problems with my back. At night, I have a hard time sleeping. When I go to people's houses, I have a hard time sitting. I often wind up on the floor with my back against their sofa because I can't stand sitting unsupported.In the past two months, I've made many small adjustments in my life trying to improve my overall back health. I also bought some toys including this, a back buddy (theracane like device), a massage roller ball, and a foam roller. Okay, my closet is starting to look a little weird! Some have helped more than others.When I first got this contraption, I thought I would never get it together. The plastic is very hard and difficult to bend into position and I'm not quite sure I'd ever be able to get it to the last knotch. After about 30minutes of straining and frustration, I did finally get it set up. The first few nights, it was very difficult to lay on as my muscles were very tense. However, the longer I used it, the more I relaxed and the more cracks and pops came from my poor abused back. Ow! I was pretty sure I was just going to snap in half at some point.It's been about a week since I've been using it regularly each night for about 5-10 minutes and I see a HUGE difference in how I feel in the morning. I actually sleep through the entire night.I'm not saying it will work for everyone because everyone's medical situation is different. However, at this price point, you really can't afford to not try it. It is REALLY good at what it does. It will certainly stretch your back.

I am 57 years old. About 20 years ago, I had a back problem so bad it was painful to bend over the sink to brush my teeth. My doctor sent me for x-rays and I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease (which most of us get at some point in our lives as we grow older). After getting over that extreme episode, I had new flair ups from time to time that were just as bad. Later, I began to go to a chiropractor but searched online for something else that might help me. Using this was a little rough at first until I stretched out more. It became easier with each use and my spine became more limber each time. I try to use it twice a day for five minutes followed by the "cat" and "child's pose" stretch. It's simply wonderful to elongate or decompress the spine. I haven't felt relief this consistent in quite a while.So, while I think my chiropractor helped my degenerative disc, this small, portable, travel-friendly device has been a great relief for my discomfort. It has allowed me to discontinue weekly trips to the chiropractor. The cost is so minimal for the benefits it brings. I'm always skeptical of reviews as I hear that many are "paid for" and not real. But, this IS one that is genuine! I think when you see hundreds of reviews that are good, you know they're from true users of the product. This, honestly, has helped my back pain!

It definitely stretches my back but does not seem to crack is as well as what I can do with a couple of rolled up towels. Always be careful when trying to do stuff with your back and read the instructions carefully before using. I will say it helps stretch my back but I expected more relief after its use.

i wrote a review after first getting the Back Magic. I was impressed at first in the lower setting but for me once I changed it to the middle setting is when all the "Magic" started. I can't stop telling friends and family about this device.This is by far the best money I have ever spent. After years of pain and restless nights tossing and turning I am now feeling much better. The best part is that I sleep so much better, I am not tossing and turning all night trying to get comfortbale. I have 3 herniated disks in my lower back. When I went through physical therapy I got the most out of "traction" type of streches and techniques. This device is similar to the feeling I got from an inversion table, however it is much cheapier and you can bring it with you. I actual prefer this to invertion tables. I can't explain the level of strech i get from this device, I do it twice a day for like 5 or 10 minutes. I dont want to get once i start doing it because it feels so good to take the pressure off my lower back. The manual that comes with it shows you how to use it. There is even a way to lay with it under your upper back to give your upper back and shoulders a good strech. My stiffness and pain before using this device was so bad it was controling my life. I couldn't even tie my shoes without pain and shortness of breath. Now I am doing more streches and have started doing yoga. It sounds so strange to say but this simple little piece of plastic changed my life. Honestly! By the way it is very well made. Worth every penny, if i had to buy a new Back Magic every month to get this level of relief I would do it with a smile on my face. Never ever thought the "Back Magic" would be as good as it is. Trust me if you suffer from back pain you need to give this a try. It is less money than you would pay for a co-pay to visit your DR who is going to suggest meds... Buy this join the rest of us that bought the Back Magic and see the magic for yourself.

I liked using this before it broke. It seemed like it was really helping me with some chronic back pain that I have had for several years. This morning when I rolled off of it, it popped and the base broke where the top part hooks in. I might try gluing it or seeing if I can raise it to the next level and still use it. It seems like a good product but needs to be made stronger.
