Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
Greatness! Before purchasing this product, I would highly recommend going to the App Store and ensuring your phones/tablets are compatible with the free “Recoil Game” app. I tested 5 of our android/iPhone devices and 2 of them were not compatible (if you don’t see the app “Recoil Game” in the App Store then your device is not compatible). Also make sure you have 12 brand new batteries, don’t use old ones found in the back of your utility drawer. Any issues with the guns seem to clear up with fresh batteries. The equipment is well made. They withstood the terrible shipping packaging they arrived to my house in. None of the Spitfires or Game Hub were fastened/cushioned in the box in anyway. So needless to say they took a beating during the shipping process. However the equipment looks and works like it’s brand new.So far I’ve only tested the Indoor mode, and it is fantastic! The hit box is a little too big so it doesn’t take much skill to hit someone (just aim in their direction and as long as they aren’t hiding in cover you’ll hit them). I was pleasantly surprised that the WiFi hub works so well. I normally don’t get internet reception on the 2nd floor of my house. I did not think this would reach if the hub was on the 1st floor. But I went to every room, stood in every corner, hid in every closet upstairs and I never once lost connection with the hub. Great product, works perfect, loads of fun!

SO much better than just shooting Nerf darts at each other!
This is a great product. Everything worked seamlessly for us. There was an update needed for the firmware when I started it up, but it only took about a minute and then I had to reboot the hub. Every step on the app was easy to follow. My son and I played in our yard and we learned several things.1) If you play in your neighborhood, it's very restrictive to avoid crossing the street. We recommend a large playground or park.2) Have a battle arena with as many obstacles as you can- it's easy to hit your target at close distances, so offering lots of cover makes it more fun.3) Since it was just the 2 of us, we only played skirmishes and capture-the-flag. Both were lots of fun. We have more guns for more people, but today was more of a test.4) You will get good exercise out of this game. There's a lot of moving from one place to the other, and seeking cover is something we both did a lot of.5) I have a Note 9 (barely fit in bracket with my case off) and my son used his iPhone 6. Neither of us had any problems.Overall, I highly recommend this game, and hey, kudos to the designers. There was a lot of great ingenuity and creativity behind it. I hope this game takes off in popularity, because it's a lot more fun than Nerf, since there's so much feedback and a bona fide objective, vice just shooting at each other.

Easy to set up - cool app
Not sure what all the to do is with setup. I am not technically savvy and it took me about 15 minutes to put the batteries in and get the phones attached and about 10 minutes to get it set up (including downloading the app onto both phones). It is all made out of cheap hard plastic so if you drop it or are rough with any pieces I could see how they would crack. The phones felt securely attached. You can't use rechargeable batteries so there will be a cost to using 12 AA batteries (4 for each gun and 4 for the wifi hub). All in all, it's pretty much exactly what it says. The app part is what makes this different and perhaps better than plain old laser tag. My son and husband love it. I don't really enjoy running around and shooting people but if that's your thing it is a great game.

iPod Touch and iPhone 5
Although not supported by the company, I tested the product with an iPod touch and an iPhone 5. It worked great with both. The only issue with the iPod touch is that the GPS features do not work due to the iPod not having GPS. You have to play "indoor" mode with the iPod touch. If you use the iPod touch in "skirmish" mode and you are killed you cannot respawn.

Buggy, but still playable.
The idea is excellent. Implementation is quite bad. Constantly loosing Bluetooth connection between phone and gun. The app is very buggy. Get annoying constant shooting sound at lease a few times per game. Constant de-sync. App gets stuck in the middle of the game. In my case it does not happen so frequent that the game is not playable. It is still playable. You just need to restart the app and connect to the gun once in a while. Here is what always works when app stop working or gun got disconnected:1) Close the app (not just move it to background - close it compleatly)2) Switch off the gun3) Set airplane mode on the phone (it will disable BT and WiFi)4) Enable WiFi and connect to recoil network5) Enable BT6) Run the app7) Connect the phone to the gun8) Run the battle. After this procedure you always be back in the game.

Works Reeeeal Good, Tons of Fun
Man, this thing is awesome! I've been playing with it in the backyard (and in the house) with my brother and it works pretty darn well! i was a little skeptical ordering it because I expected it might be hit-or-miss/glitchy but it has been working flawlessly for me - I might have ot invest in a few more guns and get a full blown game going with my buddies. It's pretty cool the way it uses your phone and creates a sort of map with pick ups and all. It makes it feel almost like a Call of Duty game mixed with laser tag - pretty neat. Overall, I would say this is a pretty groovy game and tons of fun, and I haven't even started playing big games with a lot of people in cool locations, which should work great cause this thing is real portable. I think next I will have to take it out into the wilderness and give that a try (once I get a few more guns).

Go for it...
The set is awesome. Very cool feel and the gameplay is just epic. Recommended for gamers especially those who love shooter games. Needed 12 batteries and setup was quick and simple.
