What's not to like about this sharpener? I was in need of a sharpener for my Prismacolors, a brand that I love but that is notorious for the cores breaking easily. I was afraid to use an electric sharpener but was not having any luck with the little handheld ones. I have one made by Prismacolor and it seems to break the cores and doesn't sharpen evenly. I researched electric sharpeners made specifically for colored pencils and found several. This one had all the features I needed plus a great price. It can be used with batteries so you don't have to be tied to an outlet. Also can be plugged in to an outlet if you don't want to use batteries. I like having a choice. It has a bit of weight to it, so it feels solid, not flimsy or cheap construction. Little rubber feet keeps it from sliding down my drafting table. You can dial the sharpness of the pencil. Have used it for 2 weeks and have no complaints. No broken cores, very good price (colored pencils can be expensive so there isn't much money left over for other tools). I am very happy with it and so is my wallet. It also comes with a lifetime warranty which, I think, says a lot about the quality and that the company stands behind their product.

My wife is a former teacher. This year she was getting our kids classroom supplies ready before the first day of school. Being a slow learner but still a good husband, I decided to purchase a new electric pencil sharpener as there we 5-6 boxes of #2 pencils to sharpen and each pack contains 24 pencils.As a family we are trying to make purchases that leave as little of a footprint in our house. When I make a purchase like this one, I like to imagine how it will fit next to any other accessories or if it can be easily put somewhere out of sight. It also has to work though. When sharpening pencils you don't want the sharpener jamming up on you. So as I was looking, I found the Ex-20 and decided to give it a try.As a prime member I received free 2 day shipping and my item arrived on time as expected. The packaging is very nice and sturdy. There was a cardboard guide/protector to help keep things from moving around in the box plus offer some protection, I imagine. Instructions were clear and there is also a warranty card included which is nice. It is a really nice size and shape that I feel can fit perfectly in the drawer of my desk. With it being a vertical sharpener, it's easy to see in the clear compartment when the shavings are at maximum capacity. There's not guesswork.How does it work?!? Excellent. There is a horizontal dial on the side to adjust the sharpening power. The LED light indicator is useful as well as accurate. Needless to say, this made sharpening all those pencils easy and somewhat of a family fun activity as our kids participated as well.One added bonus is the USB - AC adapter. This is a nice touch.

So far I really like this sharpener! I’m using it to mostly sharpen color pencils. If you do your research you will find that you can’t just buy any sharpener to sharpen color pencils but this little sharpener works perfectly for colored pencils! As soon as I got it home I sharpened 5 color pencils perfectly! The best thing about this product is that it has a lifetime warranty. I like the design and quality of the product also. I also liked that it’s a family owned business. So far it’s a great product! The only thing I’m not sure about is that it doesn’t seem to automatically shut off as indicated. It just keeps sharpening. It could be possible that it’s me and not the sharpener itself but I couldn’t figure it out. It doesn’t matter to me either way I still really like it and it sharpens so good! Still loving my sharpener! The same company makes a stapler also, I’ll probably buy that next.

3.5 is my actual rating. It's a decent machine compared to the 6 I've triedthat are priced about the same.This one is solid, feels and looks to be well made for what it is,and the motor doesn't sound labored while operating.It sounds up to the job, and the shavings fly off thepencil tip.However, it has 2 faults.First one is that the AC adapter cable is kind of short at 3 feet.Also, it uses a proprietary connection into the sharpener (theother end is plain USB), so it's not easy to just swap in a(longer) replacement - though I suppose one could rig upan extension.It would just be easier and more useful if the cord was a bit longer,similar to those in competing models.The other issue concerns the quality of sharpening itself.Specifically, the sharpened point is not round, there isinvariably more lead exposed in one area than in others.Thus, after a brief amount of writing, the tip is not exposedenough to continue > remaining wood is in the way. In otherwords, the sharpening has a slanted result. Like a low qualityhandheld sharpener.My Staedtler handheld, at $3.69  Staedtler Manual Pencil Sharpener (STD51163) Colors & Packaging May Vary here on Amazon, does a nicer job. I'd like to find an electric sharpenerthat turns out consistently clean, sharp, even points and doesso quickly and easily. I'm afraid this one isn't it, at least for me.

This is a really good pencil sharpener. I especially like it because it fits nicely into a small space and has been great not only for sharpening regular pencils, it does great for my sewing marking pencil. It also works quickly and easily and gives a solid point that does not break after sharpening., a problem I experienced with my manual pencil sharpener. It is easy to empty and shows clearly the amount of debris from the sharpening of pencils. I have been using it constantly for sharpening my fabric marking pencil for a very large sewing project and have not had to change the battery. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a really good pencil sharpener. Finally, its price was very reasonable.

After several research and Web sites product comparison, this product just that I bought do a great job. From tradional pencils to colored pencils (Derwent Watercolour type) this electric sharpener (I use it on battery most of the time) execute a perfect sharpening on the above mentioned pencils. I recommend the purchase of this product. However, the delivery took a while!
