Hardcore Gaming 101 Presents: Contra and Other Konami Classics

Physical books for nostalgia fanatics, Hardcore Gaming 101 books are a treat. Packed with game details, screen shots, and game pedigrees, the retro gamer and collector can appreciate the depth and even-keeled writing. Do note that the subtitle: "...and other Konami Classics" means this book is not entirely about the Contra series. There is coverage on related Konami titles, many of which are obscure. What's nice is that you can discover some games of the same ilk. The downside is that there may be a lot of games covered that you don't care about, its a glass half-full or half-empty situation. I personally recommed it, but its not for the casual retrogamer.

If you've purchased any HG101 book before, you're getting the same quality - both written and in book materials - as you have before. If this is your first one, all hg101 books are fairly deep dives into their subject matter. Well edited, heavy on fact and light on opinion (only hg101 book that flips that script is the best games of all time book, skip that one). In general, the best gaming reading you can get. This book covers Konami very well and you'll be well versed after reading. Highly recommended.

Kurt Kalata è un nome è una garanzia. Da tempo seguo il sito hard gaming 101che detiene un vastissimo database dii giochi di ogni genere, specialmente questo autore che ci mette amore e passione nel campo videoludico, e soprattutto, nella scena del retrogaming. Questo libro ha una impaginazione classica secondo lo stile di questa serie di libri e la qualità delle pagine è nella media. Una piccola curiosità: questo libro è stato stampato direttamente da Amazon,il che sarebbe fattibile avere anche una versione tradotta in italiano, perchè viene presentato in lingua originale. Sarebbe bello che un giorno Kurt Kalata avesse una collaborazione per poter fare una traduzione
