Rose Flavor Iridescent Hologram Spandex Houndstooth Fabric by The Yard(Silver Iridescent,2yds)

The media could not be loaded.  I used this fabric for costumes. Since it's only 2 way stretch, you must be specific with the direction you lay your pattern. I made gauntlets since only 2 way stretch is required, but for my bodysuits I only use this (or any 2 way stretch) fabric as embellishment so as to not compromise the stretch of the overall bodysuit.Easy to cut, doesn't roll up after it's been cut (I HATE that!😩) was very easy to sew. I thought I might need a teflon presser foot since this fabric has a vinyl-ish feeling, but it was not necessary after all. The fabric looks very sparkly/shiny/metallic in person making it a lovely choice for stage.Would recommend if you are experienced with sewing stretch, especially 2 way.

I bought this fabric for use in making doll clothes (roughly Barbie-sized). The iridescent quality is very pretty in the light. I'm afraid that when I ironed a piece of the fabric (on low heat and on the back/"wrong" side), the piece lost some of its iridescence. It was still silvery metallic, but had lost most of the rainbow effect, and the "houndstooth" effect became less apparent. In my photo, this was the garment on the right--I ironed before cutting out and sewing, so the change clearly didn't bother me enough to not still use the piece. For the second doll outfit I made, I did not iron the fabric, and it kept the rainbow effect. In my photo, this is the garment on the left. I see now that the item description says to wash in cold water--perhaps that should have been a clue, I'm not sure. I'm happy with my purchase and will keep using the remaining fabric for different projects, but not being able to iron the fabric without losing some of its shine could potentially pose a bigger problem for sewing bigger, human-sized garments. For doll size, I'm satisfied with just avoiding more creased/wrinkled areas of the fabric as I lay down my pattern pieces.

I love this fabric it made a beautiful Barbie doll dress. It's very easy to sew and work with. I have it in my cart to buy again.My only negative is the price.
