Great First Book on Tableau
To start with, I'd like to mention that having Marleen Meier as a Reviewer, indicates how good and relevant this book is. I have bought her own "Mastering Tableau"."Learning Tableau 2022" is a great start, middle and end points in learning Tableau.Chapters 1 and 2 give a good insight on the world of data visualisation and technical tips to connect the data. The flow of details from Chapter 3 to 7 offers an easy step-by-step progress to get more familiar and comfortable with the tool.I'd have suggested that Chapters 14, 15 and 16 should have been defined earlier in the book, and would encourage people to read them even after Chapter 2.Chapters 8 to 12 are the important Chapters to actually produce meaningful dashboards that provide insights to business use cases.Chapter 10 has some cool ideas for more advanced graphs and animations. For those who love maps, Chapter 12 is a must read.Chapter 17 is either to be read after your first attempts, so you can share the design for feedback, or at the end, once you have gone through most of the tips and exercises.Maybe it would help more to have some extra screen shots to see step-by-step results. Two other considerations that could have been addressed or referenced in the book: Use of Colour and Storytelling. In today's data driven applications, these are "must know" concepts to make sure you deliver insights, not just dashboards as in Excel (don't get me wrong, I love Excel for so many other purposes).Really recommend the book! Thanks for this great work, Joshua Milligan!

The Definitive Guide to Tableau 2022
Joshua's book remains the definitive Tableau resource. His explanations of basic features and newer additions to the product are clear and simple to follow, and the exercises help ground users in the tool from the start. If you're looking for a book to help learn Tableau, or looking to cement your knowledge then I recommend Leaning Tableau 2022 as a must-have for your bookshelf.Full disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book to review due to being a technical reviewer of a previous edition
